Microwave Spectroscopy of Few-Carrier States in Bilayer Graphene Quantum Dots

open access: yesPRX Quantum
Bilayer graphene is a maturing material platform for gate-defined quantum dots that hosts long-lived spin and valley states. Implementing solid-state qubits in bilayer graphene requires a fundamental understanding of such confined electronic systems.

Engineering Dirac Cones in Graphene for Efficient Iodide Catalysis: Insights by Nanoscale Electrochemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Graphene iodide oxidation is regulated by Dirac cone engineering. Electrostatic gating tunes the Fermi level to control local iodide oxidation reaction activity, while magic‐angle twisted bilayer graphene creates flat‐band‐derived interfacial states that promote charge transfer and iodine‐species interaction, revealing a nanoscale route to electronic ...

Toward High‐Resolution Polymeric Neural Interfaces: A Practical Guide for Electron Beam Lithography

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electron beam lithography (EBL) enables sub‐micron patterning of polymer‐based neural implants, overcoming the resolution limits of optical lithography. By addressing challenges such as charging, non‐planarity, and substrate heating, it supports higher channel density, improved miniaturization, and better long‐term tissue integration.

Expanding the absorption bandwidth with two-layer graphene metamaterials in gigahertz frequency range

open access: yesCommunications in Physics
This work investigates the design and performance of a bilayer graphene metamaterial absorber operating in the GHz region. We initially analyzed a single-layer metamaterial absorber composed of a conductive ink graphene structure on a FR-4 dielectric ...

Engineering Ultrastable Intrinsic Radicals: Graphene Quantum Dots With NIR‐II Emission for Dynamic Deep‐Tissue Bioimaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Stable radicals are attractive for photonic and quantum information technologies but are often limited by instability. We stabilize intrinsic radicals in graphene quantum dots via 2D polymerization of perylene derivatives, where bilayer defect confinement suppresses quenching (100–500 K).

Coulomb Screening of Superconductivity in Magic-Angle Graphene

open access: yesPhysical Review X
The origin of superconductivity in magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene has been a subject of intense debate. While some experimental evidence indicated an unconventional pairing mechanism which should be sensitive to Coulomb screening, experimental ...

Anomalous Enhancement in MXene‐Based Electrochemical Actuators: Pseudo‐Capacitance‐Induced Multi‐Charge Accumulation in Confined Space

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We elucidate the electrochemical actuation mechanism of 2D material‐based electrodes within a MXene‐centered framework, linking atomic‐scale surface chemistry to macroscopic performance (see schematic). Mechanistically, the reduction of Ti─O─Ti sites in H2SO4 triggers the accumulation of hydrated ions at confined active sites, resulting in anomalous ...

Ru‐Doping‐Engineered Oxygen Vacancies in MoO3‐x Nanostructured Films With Ultrahigh Capacitance for Flexible Asymmetric Supercapacitors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ru‐doping‐induced defect engineering enables freestanding Ru–MoO3‐x flexible films with enriched oxygen vacancies, modulated band structure, and enhanced charge transport. The optimized electrode delivers ultrahigh capacitance approaching the theoretical limit of MoO3, while assembled asymmetric supercapacitors exhibit high energy density, wide‐voltage

Graphene‐Engineered Rear Interfaces Enable Efficient Flexible CZTSSe Solar Cells on Metal Foils

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An atomically thin graphene interlayer stabilizes the rear interface of flexible CZTSSe solar cells by regulating interfacial stress, suppressing detrimental interfacial reactions, and reducing the back‐contact barrier. This strategy simultaneously improves photovoltaic performance and mechanical durability.
