Ruthenium‐Catalyzed Isomerization of Oxabicyclic Alkenes to 1,2‐Naphthalene Oxides: A DFT Study

The mechanism and regioselectivity of ruthenium‐catalysed isomerisation of C1‐substituted, unsymmetrical oxabenzonorbornadienes (OBDs) were investigated using density functional theory (DFT). This study elucidates a three‐step catalytic cycle: oxidative addition, η1‐ to η3‐allyl isomerisation, and reductive elimination.
