Benign Neoplasms of the Bile Ducts

2020
Several classification schemes have been proposed for bile duct neoplasms. The most widely accepted is that of the World Health Organization. Adenocarcinomas, intraductal papillary neoplasms, and mucinous cystic neoplasms constitute about 95% of all intra- and extrahepatic bile duct neoplasms.

Neoplasms of Extrahepatic Bile Ducts

2010
In order to appreciate the molecular pathology of carcinomas occurring in the extrahepatic bile ducts (EBD), it is important to understand the epidemiology and risk factors for these cancers. A chapter on cholangiocarcinoma with focus on intrahepatic biliary neoplasms is included independently in this textbook ( Chap. 59).

Intraductal Tubulopapillary Neoplasm of the Pancreas and Bile Duct

Pancreas, 2020
Abstract Intraductal tubulopapillary neoplasms (ITPNs) of the pancreas and bile duct are contemporary entities. It is unclear on how to best manage patients with this diagnosis because little is known about its progression to cancer. This review provides an update on the current knowledge of ITPN of the pancreas and bile duct with an overview

No communication between the bile duct and intraductal papillary neoplasm of the bile duct on imaging

Clinical Hemorheology and Microcirculation
As a rare biliary tract tumor, intraductal papillary neoplasm of the bile duct (IPNB) is most common in elderly men and can progress to cholangiocarcinoma- (CCa) if left untreated. It is reported that IPNB usually communicates with the bile duct. As a result, the downstream bile ducts are imaged asymmetrically dilated.

Intraductal Papillary Neoplasm of the Bile Duct

2017
Intraductal papillary neoplasm of the bile duct (IPNB) is a grossly visible, preinvasive neoplasm of the bile duct that characteristically shows an intraductal predominant growth in dilated bile duct(s). IPNB is composed of a well-differentiated papillary or villous neoplasm covering delicate and ramifying fibrovascular stalks.
