Carcinoma of the Bile Ducts

Archives of Surgery, 1963
Carcinoma of the major extrahepatic and intrahepatic bile ducts, although infrequently encountered, merits consideration in every patient having obstructive jaundice. Bile Duct Carcinoma

Bile Duct Cysts

Surgical Clinics of North America, 2008

White bile in the common bile duct

The American Journal of Surgery, 1955

Carcinoma of the Bile Duct

Surgical Clinics of North America, 1973
The aim of surgical treatment is resection for cure but, except in tumors of the distal bile duct, this can be accomplished only rarely. Palliative bypassing or dilatation and intubation are worthwhile for the relief of pruritus and jaundice. There is a 30 per cent 5-year survival rate following pancreaticoduodenectomy for distal lesions.

The Radiology of the Bile Ducts

The British Journal of Radiology, 1959
1. A radiological classification of disorders of the bile ducts is suggested. 2. The investigation of injuries of the ducts, and external and internal biliary fistulae, is considered. 4.

Bile Duct Resection

2007
Resection of tumors at the confluence of the left and right hepatic duct requires one of the most difficult operations. The surgical procedure requires not only a portal lymphadenectomy and bile duct resection, but also almost always a liver resection.
