Commodity risk assessment of Juglans regia plants from Turkey. [PDF]

open access: yesEFSA J, 2021
Abstract The European Commission requested the EFSA Panel on Plant Health to prepare and deliver risk assessments for commodities listed in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/2019 as ‘High risk plants, plant products and other objects’. This Scientific Opinion covers the plant health risks posed by 2‐year‐old grafted bare rooted plants for ...

Hybridization and recurrent evolution of left-right reversal in the land snail genus Schileykula (Orculidae, Pulmonata). [PDF]

open access: yesJ Zool Syst Evol Res, 2020
The land snail genus Schileykula comprises eight species, distributed mainly in arid limestone areas in Turkey. We performed phylogenetic analyses based on three mitochondrial genes (cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1, 12S, and 16S) and a section of the nuclear H4/H3 histone gene cluster.

The Geodynamic Implications of Passive Margin Subduction in Northwest Turkey

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 24, Issue 2, February 2023., 2023
Abstract The number of subduction zones that facilitated the northward translation of the Anatolide‐Tauride continental terrane derived from Gondwana to the southern margin of Eurasia at the longitude of western Turkey is debated. We hypothesized that if two north dipping subduction zones facilitated incipient collision in western Turkey, a late ...

Sedimentary Provenance From the Evolving Forearc‐to‐Foreland Central Sakarya Basin, Western Anatolia Reveals Multi‐Phase Intercontinental Collision

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 23, Issue 3, March 2022., 2022
Abstract Collision between the Pontides and Anatolide‐Tauride Block along the İzmir‐Ankara‐Erzincan suture in Anatolia has been variously estimated from the Late Cretaceous to Eocene. It remains unclear whether this age range results from a protracted, multi‐phase collision or differences between proxies of collision age and/or along strike ...

Ups and downs of belemnite diversity in the Early Jurassic of Western Tethys

open access: yesPalaeontology, Volume 64, Issue 2, Page 263-283, March 2021., 2021
Abstract Although belemnites form a major clade of extinct cephalopods, the early stage of their diversification remains poorly known in time and space. Here we investigate the first diversification episodes of belemnites (order Belemnitida) using a new species‐level database encompassing the Hettangian–Aalenian interval (Early Jurassic – earliest ...
