Roboat III: An autonomous surface vessel for urban transportation

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, Volume 40, Issue 8, Page 1996-2009, December 2023., 2023
Abstract In this paper, we present our novel autonomous surface vessel platform, a full‐scale Roboat for urban transportation. This 4‐m‐long Roboat is designed with six seats and can carry a payload of up to 1000 kg. Roboat has two main thrusters for cruising and two tunnel thrusters to accommodate docking and interconnectivity between Roboats.

How genuine is your diversity climate? A new typology highlighting the emergence of specious diversity climates

open access: yesJournal of Organizational Behavior, Volume 44, Issue 9, Page 1301-1319, November 2023., 2023
Summary Research supports the notion that diversity climate (employees' perceptions of the extent to which fairness and elimination of discrimination are promoted within the work unit) can help the unit attain benefits—rather than detriments—from workforce diversity.

Developing a thermodynamic model for the circulating air using an opaque system

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 11, Issue 10, Page 3790-3806, October 2023., 2023
Block‐oriented nonlinear system. Abstract The paper focuses on energy modelling that involves a concatenated structure of a linear time‐invariant system. A block‐structured (BS) technique was adopted for a nonlinear system identification. Using the superimposition principle, the model mapped the thermodynamic state variables as an indirect function of ...

A Study on the Bilge Keels

open access: yesJournal of Zosen Kiokai, 1959
The eddy-making resistance due to the bilge keels was investigated in the previous papers. The effect of the ship form on the eddy-making resistance to the rolling of a ship hull is discussed in the present paper from the results of the systematic two dimensional model experiments.

Kraft Lignin: From Pulping Waste to Bio‐Based Dielectric Polymer for Organic Field‐Effect Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, Volume 6, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Kraft lignin is applied as the gate dielectric layer in C60 or pentacene organic field‐effect transistors. The role of lignin molecular degradation and functional groups is elucidated. Abstract Lignin is an abundant biopolymer deriving from industrial pulping processes of lignocellulosic biomass. Despite the huge amount of yearly produced lignin waste,

Pinaceae Fir Resins as Natural Dielectrics for Low Voltage Operating, Hysteresis‐Free Organic Field Effect Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, Volume 6, Issue 10, October 2022., 2022
Natural resins, exemplified here by two Pinaceae fir resins, originating from trees growing in Europe and North America, are robust dielectric materials with excellent film forming abilities, high breakdown field, and low interface trap density that recommends them for field‐effect transistors applications in the frame of sustainable electronics ...

The Bristol CMIP6 Data Hackathon

open access: yesWeather, Volume 77, Issue 6, Page 218-221, June 2022., 2022
The Bristol CMIP6 Data Hackathon formed part of the Met Office Climate Data Challenge Hackathon series during 2021, bringing together around 100 UK early career researchers from a wide range of environmental disciplines. The purpose was to interrogate the under‐utilised but currently most advanced climate model inter‐comparison project datasets to ...
