Multiple Sampling Capsule Robot for Studying Gut Microbiome
A multiple sampling capsule robot (MSCR) is developed for longitudinal gut microbiome analysis. Employing electromagnetic field control, the MSCR can locomote actively, precisely align the selected channel, and collect up to six microbiome samples with minimal cross‐contamination.

Targeting Cholangiocarcinoma Cells By Cold Piezoelectric Plasmas: In Vitro Efficacy And Cellular Mechanisms [PDF]
Cold piezoelectric plasma (CPP) is a novel approach in cancer therapy, enabling the development of portable treatment devices capable of triggering cancer cell death. While its effectiveness remains underexplored, this research focuses on its application against cholangiocarcinoma (CCA), an aggressive cancer of the biliary tract.

Detecting the Difficult: An Intronic NPC1 Variant Hiding in Plain Sight
ABSTRACT An illustration of the importance of manual data review for identifying rare intronic variants adjacent to homopolymers is presented here. A 14‐year‐old male with Niemann‐Pick Type C disease confirmed biochemically was only found to have a heterozygous pathogenic variant by molecular analysis. A manual review of the Next Generation Sequencing (

A Survey on Contemporary Computer-Aided Tumor, Polyp, and Ulcer Detection Methods in Wireless Capsule Endoscopy Imaging [PDF]
Wireless capsule endoscopy (WCE) is a process in which a patient swallows a camera-embedded pill-shaped device that passes through the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, captures and transmits images to an external receiver. WCE devices are considered as a replacement of conventional endoscopy methods which are usually painful and distressful for the ...

Abstract Plutonium was discovered and first synthesized in the early 1940's. Several isotopes of plutonium are used in nuclear technologies, 238Pu for heat generation and 239Pu for energy production and weapons. Both isotopes emit alpha particles, which pose a significant radiation hazard when incorporated into the body.
