Surgical-VQA: Visual Question Answering in Surgical Scenes using Transformer [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Visual question answering (VQA) in surgery is largely unexplored. Expert surgeons are scarce and are often overloaded with clinical and academic workloads. This overload often limits their time answering questionnaires from patients, medical students or junior residents related to surgical procedures.

Mannose‐Glycated Metal‐Phenolic Microcapsules Orchestrate Phenotype Switch of Macrophages for Boosting Tumor Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Immunomodulatory metal‐phenolic microcapsules (mMPMs) is developed in this study that leverages dopamine‐modified hyaluronic acid and FeIII assemble on mannose‐glycated bovine serum albumin microbubbles. mMPMs effectively promote macrophage internalization and M1 polarization, enhancing pro‐inflammatory responses.

Algorithm of surgical tactics and surgical treatment of cholelithiasis complicated by multiple choledocholithiasis

open access: yesHeart Vessels and Transplantation, 2022
Objective: Biliary stone disease is now one of the most common diseases, affecting 10-20% of the world's population. One of the most important problems in biliary tract surgery is the treatment of choledocholithiasis, which occurs in 10 to 38% of biliary

Biliary Tract Injuries

open access: yesTopics in the Surgery of the Biliary Tree, 2018
Injuries of the biliary system are rare. They can broadly be divided into traumatic biliary injuries and iatrogenic biliary injuries. Former are usually part of associated abdominal trauma, blunt or penetrating, and latter are consequence of surgical ...

Silk Fibroin Nanoparticles for Enhanced Cuproptosis and Immunotherapy in Pancreatic Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cuproptosis can be triggered via intracellular copper overload mediated by elesclomol (ES).Enhancing ES‐Cu's tumor targeting and circulation stability can efficiently induce tumor cuproptosis. TSF@ES‐Cu protect ES‐Cu, target tumors via natural RGD sequences, and release through multi‐responsiveness.

Common bile duct stone‐related parameters and their potential prognostic values for stone extraction requiring endoscopic papillary large balloon dilation

open access: yesJGH Open, Volume 7, Issue 1, Page 16-23, January 2023., 2023
Endoscopic CBD stone removal is more difficult with stones larger than 2 mm than with distal CBD diameter or round or square‐shaped stones. Therefore, endoscopic large papillary balloon dilatation (ELPBD) is probably more required for stones larger than 2 mm than for distal CBD; likewise, round or square‐shaped stones are likely more required for ELPBD
