Comparative Analysis of Rub-Impact Dynamics of Shrouded Blades Based on the Bilinear Hysteresis Model and the Coulomb Friction Model

open access: yesLubricants, 2022
The bilinear hysteresis friction model and the Coulomb friction model are two typical macro slip models which are widely used by researchers in simulation analysis of rub-impact dynamics of shrouded blades.

Critical response of a single-degree-of-freedom system with bilinear hysteresis and viscous damping under triple impulse

open access: yesFrontiers in Built Environment
A triple impulse is used as a mathematical model of forward-directivity inputs, which are fault-normal components of near-fault earthquake ground motions. In this paper, two types of the triple impulse input are employed.

Random Excitation of a System With Bilinear Hysteresis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mechanics, Transactions ASME, 1960
An analysis is made of the response of a system with bilinear hysteresis to random excitation. It is shown that for moderately large inputs, the additional damping created by the bilinear hysteresis decreases the mean squared deflection compared with that for a linear system with the same viscous damping.

Non-stationary responses of a system with bilinear hysteresis subjected to non-white random excitation

open access: yesJournal of Sound and Vibration, 1983
Abstract A technique is developed for calculating the non-stationary responses of a system with bilinear hysteresis subjected to non-white random excitations. An approximate equation of motion describing the hysteretic behavior is constructed by introducing an additional state variable and non-linear functions.

Bilinear Model of Behavior Reinforced Concrete Column under High-intensity Lateral Loads after Fire [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2023
The experience of destructive earthquakes shows that the problem of determining the response of RC frames under seismic loads after a fire is relevant. Calculation models for individual elements and buildings as a whole should reflect nonlinear behavior ...

Numerical Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Beam-Column Joints without Transverse Reinforcement [PDF]

open access: yesNumerical Methods in Civil Engineering, 2022
This research uses a nonlinear finite element analysis to evaluate and validate two experimental specimens. The Hognestad stress-strain model is used to express the uniaxial compressive behavior of concrete to define three-dimensional concrete in the ...

Critical Response of Multi-Story Damped Bilinear Hysteretic Shear Building Under Multi Impulse as Representative of Long-Period, Long-Duration Earthquake Ground Motions

open access: yesFrontiers in Built Environment, 2020
The critical response is investigated for a multi-story damped bilinear hysteretic shear building model under a multi impulse as a representative of long-period, long-duration earthquake ground motions. The critical response for an elastic–plastic single-

Comparison of Seismic Input Energy Based on the Characteristics of Structural Hysteretic Behavior [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Rehabilitation in Civil Engineering, 2019
Alteration in earthquake input energy correspond with changes in characteristics of the various existing structures, particularly in hysteretic states, has not been examined to such extent that creates enough confidence to present diverse regulations or ...

Application of modified energy method in the nonlinear cyclic behavior of structures [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Structural and Construction Engineering, 2019
Structural elements exhibit cyclic behavior or hysteresis under seismic loads; therefore, the analysis of this type of response is of great importance in Earthquake Engineering.
