Dynamic analysis of dry friction system based on improved bilinear hysteretic model
Considering that the dry friction force only shows stiffness characteristic when the normal contact force is high and combining with the existing conclusions of experimental research, the bilinear hysteresis model is improved.

We have used a spin-1 Ising model Hamiltonian with dipolar (bilinear, J), quadrupolar (biquadratic, K), and dipolar-quadrupolar (odd, L) interactions in pair approximation to investigate the exchange-bias (EB), coercive field, and asymmetric hysteretic ...

Exchange Field Induced Magnetoresistance in Colossal Magnetoresistance Manganites
The effect of an exchange field on electrical transport in thin films of metallic ferromagnetic manganites has been investigated. The exchange field was induced both by direct exchange coupling in a ferromagnet/antiferromagnet multilayer and by indirect ...

Constrained bifurcations of the system with double-loop bilinear hysteresis
Systems with double-loop hysteresis are used increasingly in engineering, but few studies on their dynamics are reported. In this study, the bifurcation characteristics of the primary resonance of a system with double-loop bilinear hysteresis are investigated on the background of a shape memory alloy damper.

Effective linear damping and stiffness coefficients of nonlinear systems for design spectrum based analysis [PDF]
A stochastic approach for obtaining reliable estimates of the peak response of nonlinear systems to excitations specified via a design seismic spectrum is proposed. This is achieved in an efficient manner without resorting to numerical integration of the

Seismic Capacity Assessment of Confined Brick Masonry Building: An Experimental Approach
Brick masonry is widely used for building construction throughout the world. However, unreinforced brick masonry buildings performed poorly in the 2005 Kashmir earthquake, in Pakistan, resulting in a decline in the use of brick masonry.

ABSTRACT Damage to non‐structural elements significantly impacts the seismic performance of buildings in terms of economic and functionality losses. Consequently, performance‐based seismic design of non‐structural elements has become a key pillar of a comprehensive building‐seismic resilience strategy, for instance, through loss‐targeted earthquake ...

ABSTRACT Reinforced concrete pier walls designed before the 1970s often incorporate lap splice in potential plastic‐hinge regions. Previous experimental tests indicate that most of pier walls experienced post‐yield lap splice failure, necessitating a modeling approach that captures not only lap splice strength but also deformation capacity.
