ABSTRACT This study develops a comprehensive framework for assessing time and state‐dependent aftershock damage accumulation under an M9.0 megathrust interface earthquake in the Cascadia Subduction Zone (CSZ). The framework integrates aftershock probabilistic seismic hazard analysis (APSHA) and state‐dependent fragility analysis (SDFA) within a ...

Privacy-Preserving Substring Search on Multi-Source Encrypted Gene Data
Substring searching on gene sequence data is widely used for analyzing the association between a list of gene mutations and a specific disease. As substring search usually has a high computational cost, deploying it in the cloud has become a popular ...

Gleason–Kahane–Żelazko Theorem for Bilinear Maps
Abstract Let A and B be two unital Banach algebras and 𝔘 = A × B. We prove that the bilinear mapping φ: 𝔘 → ℂ is a bi-Jordan homomorphism if and only if φ is unital, invertibility preserving and jointly continuous. Additionally, if A is commutative, then φ is a bi-homomorphism.

ABSTRACT Damage to non‐structural elements significantly impacts the seismic performance of buildings in terms of economic and functionality losses. Consequently, performance‐based seismic design of non‐structural elements has become a key pillar of a comprehensive building‐seismic resilience strategy, for instance, through loss‐targeted earthquake ...

Research on Collaborative Estimation of SOC and SOH for Lithium‐Ion Batteries Based on BS‐SRCKF‐DEKF
This paper presents a novel method for jointly estimating the state of charge (SOC) and state of health (SOH) in lithium‐ion battery systems. A second‐order hysteresis RC model and the BS‐SRCKF‐DEKF algorithm are used to improve estimation accuracy. Simulation and experimental results verify the method′s robustness and superior performance.

We study a problem that is algebraic in nature but has certain applications in graph theory. It can be seen as a generalization of the joint spectral radius. Given a bilinear map $*:\mathbb R^d\times\mathbb R^d\to\mathbb R^d$ and a vector $s\in\mathbb R^d$, both with nonnegative coefficients and entries, among an exponential number of ways to combine ...

This paper presents a finite element method for simulating highly viscoelastic flows of pure polymer melts using the Elastic Viscous Stress Splitting formulation. The method avoids higher‐order derivatives in the weak formulation by reformulating the convective term in the constitutive equation.

Division, Adjoints, and Dualities of Bilinear Maps [PDF]
The distributive property can be studied through bilinear maps and various morphisms between these maps. The adjoint-morphisms between bilinear maps establish a complete abelian category with projectives and admits a duality. Thus the adjoint category is not a module category but nevertheless it is suitably familiar.
