Kuga–Satake Construction on Families of K3 Surfaces of Picard Rank 14

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The isometry between the type IV6 and the type II4 hermitian symmetric domains suggests a possible relation between suitable moduli spaces of K3 surfaces of Picard rank 14 and of polarized abelian 8‐folds with totally definite quaternion multiplication. We show how this isometry induces a geometrically meaningful map between such moduli spaces

Manin Triples and Bialgebras of Left-Alia Algebras Associated with Invariant Theory

open access: yesMathematics
A left-Alia algebra is a vector space together with a bilinear map satisfying the symmetric Jacobi identity. Motivated by invariant theory, we first construct a class of left-Alia algebras induced by twisted derivations. Then, we introduce the notions of

Nonlinear Sherman-type inequalities

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis, 2018
An important class of Schur-convex functions is generated by convex functions via the well-known Hardy–Littlewood–Pólya–Karamata inequality. Sherman’s inequality is a natural generalization of the HLPK inequality.

Unveiling New Perspectives on the Hirota–Maccari System With Multiplicative White Noise

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this study, we delve into the stochastic Hirota–Maccari system, which is subjected to multiplicative noise according to the Itô sense. The stochastic Hirota–Maccari system is significant for its ability to accurately model how stochastic affects nonlinear wave propagation, providing valuable insights into complex systems like fluid dynamics

Shape Derivatives of the Eigenvalues of the de Rham Complex for Lipschitz Deformations and Variable Coefficients: Part II

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this second part of our series of papers, we develop an abstract framework suitable for de Rham complexes that depend on a parameter belonging to an arbitrary Banach space. Our primary focus is on spectral perturbation problems and the differentiability of eigenvalues with respect to perturbations of the involved parameters. As a byproduct,

Continuity and hypocontinuity for bilinear maps

open access: yesMathematische Zeitschrift, 1984
Let E, F and G be metric linear spaces and \(b:E\times F\to G\) a separately continuous bilinear map. By employing the notion of K- convergent sequence and K-bounded sets, we give a general hypocontinuity result which holds without completeness assumptions on any of the spaces and which contains the Bourbaki hypocontinuity result for Frechet spaces as ...

Linear Toroidal‐Inertial Waves on A Differentially Rotating Sphere with Application to Helioseismology: Modeling, Forward and Inverse Problems

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper develops a mathematical framework for interpreting observations of solar inertial waves in an idealized setting. Under the assumption of purely toroidal linear waves on the sphere, the stream function of the flow satisfies a fourth‐order scalar equation.

Closures in $\aleph_0$-categorical bilinear maps

open access: yes, 1997
Alternating bilinear maps with few relations allow to define a combinatorial closure similarly as in [2]. For the $\aleph_0$-categorical case we show that this closure is part of the algebraic closure.

Vibration Attenuation of Cantilever Beam Using Electromagnetic Delayed Feedback

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study presents a combined analytical and numerical investigation of a single‐input single‐output delayed feedback controller designed to suppress vibrations in a cantilever beam actuated by an electromagnet positioned beneath its free end. An analytical model was developed using the linearized equation of motion for a transversely excited
