Fréchet Differentiability for a Damped Kirchhoff-Type Equation and Its Application to Bilinear Minimax Optimal Control Problems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Differential Equations, 2019
We consider a damped Kirchhoff-type equation with Dirichlet boundary conditions. The objective is to show the Fréchet differentiability of a nonlinear solution map from a bilinear control input to the solution of a Kirchhoff-type equation.

Graph cohomology classes in the Batalin-Vilkovisky formalism

open access: yes, 2007
We give a conceptual formulation of Kontsevich's `dual construction' producing graph cohomology classes from a differential graded Frobenius algebra with an odd scalar product. Our construction -- whilst equivalent to the original one -- is combinatorics-

Hierarchical Complementary Enhanced Autoencoder Integrating Spatio‐Temporal Interaction Feature for Soft Sensor

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT To address the issues of neglecting the spatiotemporal correlations among process variables, low‐level features are vulnerable to noise interference, and the gradual loss of key information layer by layer during deep network training in traditional stacked autoencoder‐based soft‐sensor models, this paper proposes a hierarchical complementary ...

Einstein Yang-Mills amplitudes from intersections of twisted forms

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
We present a geometric derivation of all-multiplicity (single-trace) tree-level Einstein Yang-Mills (EYM) amplitudes A $$ \mathcal{A} $$ (n; r) involving n gluons and r gravitons by a bilinear of two twisted differential forms on the moduli space of ...

Killing spinors are Killing vector fields in Riemannian Supergeometry

open access: yes, 1997
A supermanifold M is canonically associated to any pseudo Riemannian spin manifold (M_0,g_0). Extending the metric g_0 to a field g of bilinear forms g(p) on T_p M, p\in M_0, the pseudo Riemannian supergeometry of (M,g) is formulated as G-structure on M,

Degree theory for 4‐dimensional asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
Abstract We develop a new degree theory for 4‐dimensional, asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons. Our theory implies the existence of gradient expanding solitons that are asymptotic to any given cone over S3$S^3$ with non‐negative scalar curvature. We also obtain a similar existence result for cones whose link is diffeomorphic to S3/Γ$S^3/\

Analytical stress solution framework for lined compressed air energy storage chambers and its application to safe burial depth determination and supporting effectiveness evaluation

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
An analytical framework delivers a closed‐form stress solution for lined compressed air energy storage chambers, enabling the determination of the minimum safe burial depth. The solution quantitatively evaluates lining support effectiveness, offering a reliable tool for chamber design and optimization.

An Electric Vehicle Routing Optimization Model With Hybrid Plug-In and Wireless Charging Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
In order to address the inconvenience of having to stop to charge the battery of an electric vehicle, wireless on-road charging technology, also known as charge-while-driving, has garnered much attention in recent studies.

Two-Level Progressive Attention Convolutional Network for Fine-Grained Image Recognition

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The learning of discriminative features is the key for fine-grained image recognition. To better extract effective features and improve the accuracy of fine-grained image recognition, we propose a two-level progressive attention convolutional network ...

Physiology–microhabitat matching may help organisms cope with the thermal and hydric challenges under climate change: a tale of two lizards

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
Climate change is significantly affecting biodiversity, and organisms that depend on external temperature – such as ectotherms – are particularly vulnerable to these effects. Microhabitats provide refuge for species, thereby reducing exposure to thermal and hydric stress under climate change.
