ABSTRACT Reinforced concrete pier walls designed before the 1970s often incorporate lap splice in potential plastic‐hinge regions. Previous experimental tests indicate that most of pier walls experienced post‐yield lap splice failure, necessitating a modeling approach that captures not only lap splice strength but also deformation capacity.

As seismic design paradigms shift toward functional recovery, there is a need for efficient methods to achieve desired decision variables (DVs), such as probability of replacement, repair cost, and downtime of the building, for seismically isolated buildings.

ABSTRACT In this article, we propose a novel numerical framework for the non‐isothermal Cahn–Hilliard–Navier–Stokes two‐phase flow system, which couples the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations, the Cahn–Hilliard phase‐field equation, and the heat transport equation to capture temperature‐dependent two‐phase flow dynamics.

Transference of bilinear multiplier operators on Lorentz spaces
We prove a DeLeeuw type theorem of transference of boundedness for modulation invariant multiplier operators between the groups defined by the real line and the torus.

ABSTRACT Flexibility is a crucial characteristic of industrial systems that face increasing volatilities and is therefore essential to ensure feasible operation under uncertainty. Flexibility is often closely tied to the design of a system, and careful consideration must be taken to understand the trade‐off between design cost and operational ...

Why Is the Peak Group Analysis So Effective for IR Spectra Analysis?
ABSTRACT Peak group analysis (PGA), an MCR algorithm, has proven to be very successful in extracting pure component spectra and concentration profiles from IR and Raman spectral data when investigating carbonylation reactions with transition metal catalysts.

Biodiversity modelling is essential for explaining and predicting ecological responses to environmental change and assessing progress towards targets in the Kunming‐Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (CBD 2022). The UK benefits from rich biodiversity time‐series data and numerous open‐source environmental datasets.

Notes on the spaces of bilinear multipliers
A locally integrable function $m( , )$ defined on $\mathbb R^n\times \mathbb R^n$ is said to be a bilinear multiplier on $\mathbb R^n$ of type $(p_1,p_2, p_3)$ if $$ B_m(f,g)(x)=\int_{\mathbb R^n} \int_{\mathbb R^n}\hat f( )\hat g( )m( , )e^{2 i(} d d $$ defines a bounded bilinear operator from $L^{p_1}(\mathbb R^n)\times L^{p_2}(\mathbb R^n) $

On some bilinear Fourier multipliers with oscillating factors, I
For s>0, s≠1, bilinear Fourier multipliers of the form ei(∣∣ξ∣∣s+∣∣η∣∣s+∣∣ξ+η∣∣s)σ(ξ,η) are considered, where σ(ξ,η) belongs to the Hörmander class Sm1,0(R2n). A criterion for m to ensure the L∞×L∞→L∞, L1×L∞→L1, and L∞×L1→L1 boundedness of the corresponding bilinear operators is given.
