Urban Heat Island in the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East: Multi‐City Approach in Regional Climate Modelling

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 46, Issue 4, 30 March 2026.
This study presents that the WRF model, coupled with bulk urban parameterization, effectively captures the summer urban heat island (UHI) patterns across the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East, showing stronger night‐time surface UHIs (5°C–6°C) and daytime surface cool islands (up to 12.5°C).

Mesh and Model Adaptivity for Multiscale Elastoplastic Models With Prandtl‐Reuss Type Material Laws

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 127, Issue 6, 30 March 2026.
ABSTRACT Homogenization methods simulate heterogeneous materials like composites effectively, but high computational demands can offset their benefits. This work balances accuracy and efficiency by assessing model and discretization errors of the finite element method (FEM) through an adaptive numerical scheme.

Physics‐Constrained Network for Enhanced Extended‐Range Precipitation Forecasting in East Asia

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 6, 28 March 2026.
Abstract The complex summer weather in East Asia poses significant challenges of precipitation forecasting. Despite the promising capabilities of deep learning models in conventional forecasting tasks, their black‐box nature limits physical interpretability.

Endpoint estimates for bilinear operators

open access: yes
The present thesis is based on the material presented in three research papers, whose main goal is to obtain endpoint estimates for bilinear pseudodifferential operators. In particular, the study is focused on obtaining several estimates involving the endpoint space of functions with local bounded mean oscillation, denoted by bmo(R^n).

How Lateral Flow Impacts Heavy Rainfall in Complex Terrain: A Composite Analysis Over the Southern Anhui Mountainous Region

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 6, 28 March 2026.
Abstract High‐resolution modeling of terrestrial hydrological processes offers new opportunities to advance the understanding of land‐atmosphere (L‐A) interactions. To investigate the impact of soil lateral flow (LF) on heavy rainfall events in mountainous areas of the Yangtze‐Huai region, we conducted two sets of convection‐permitting WRF simulations ...
