Performance–Complexity Trade‐Offs in Battery Lifetime Prediction with Task‐Aware Transformers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 56, 9 October 2026.
FAST‐BatPro integrates convolutional feature extraction, flash Attention, and sparse attention for efficient battery lifetime prediction. Using limited early‐cycle data across multiple chemistries and operating conditions, it achieves robust accuracy while reducing inference latency, computational cost, and energy consumption.

Sentiment Analysis of Imbalanced Dataset Through Data Augmentation and Generative Annotation Using DistilBERT and Low‐Rank Fine‐Tuning

open access: yesApplied AI Letters, Volume 7, Issue 3, October 2026.
The proposed model takes an imbalanced English dataset as input and balances it by Generating Synthetic Tweets (GST) using GPT‐based paraphrasing. These new tweets are then annotated with one of 10 categorical labels representing their primary meaning, using another large language model like GPT.

Hierarchical Text Classification: Fine-tuned GPT-2 vs BERT-BiLSTM

open access: yesApplied Computer Systems
Hierarchical Text Classification (HTC) is a specialised task in natural language processing that involves categorising text into a hierarchical structure of classes. This approach is particularly valuable in several domains, such as document organisation,

Detection of Bangla AI‐Generated Texts Using a Quantum Kernel Support Vector Machine

open access: yesApplied AI Letters, Volume 7, Issue 3, October 2026.
Fluent AI‐generated text is increasingly hard to tell from human writing and detection tools lag far behind for low‐resource languages such as Bangla. This work presents, to our knowledge, the first quantum‐kernel Support Vector Machine (QSVM) for detecting AI‐generated Bangla text.

Advancing Long‐Term Energy Demand Forecasting: A PRISMA‐Guided Systematic Review of AI and Econometric Models

open access: yesApplied Research, Volume 5, Issue 5, October 2026.
Through a PRISMA‐guided review of 42 studies, this work compares deep learning, ensemble machine learning, and statistical/econometric models for long‐term energy demand forecasting, showing that model choice should balance accuracy, interpretability, data availability, and policy relevance.

Interpreting Non‐Linear Compaction Mechanics of Expansive Soils Using Reliability Calibrated Framework

open access: yesApplied Research, Volume 5, Issue 5, October 2026.
This study introduces a reliability‐calibrated machine learning framework to predict the maximum dry density and optimum moisture content of heterogeneous soils. By integrating 15 algorithms with conformal prediction, the models deliver accurate compaction estimates alongside rigorous, distribution‐free 90% confidence intervals.
