Surfactant Derived From Stearoyl Chloride and Benzimidazole for Micellar‐Promoted Synthesis of N‐Aryl‐1,8‐dioxo‐decahydroacridines in Water at Room Temperature

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 1, January 2026.
A new anionic surfactant was synthesized via a one‐pot reaction of stearoyl chloride and benzimidazole with aluminum chloride under reflux. The surfactant was effective in synthesizing 1,8‐dioxodecahydroacridines, achieving a 96% yield in water without the need for cocatalysts.
