Cold-formed steel joints with partial warping restraint

open access: yesMagazine of Civil Engineering, 2021
The article investigates the influence of joints on the warping torsion of cold-formed steel bars. The modern warping torsion theory suggests cold-formed steel bars to be simply supported or fixed at the ends.

Bending and Vibrations of a Thick Plate with Consideration of Bimoments

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics and Physics, 2016
The paper is dedicated to the development of the theory of orthotropic thick plates with consideration of internal forces, moments and bimoments. The equations of motion of a plate are described by two systems of six equations. New equations of motion of the plate and the boundary conditions relative to displacements, forces, moments, and bimoments are

Algorithm of correcting bimoments in calculations of thin-walled bar systems

open access: yesMagazine of Civil Engineering, 2021
An algorithm developed for enhancing the accuracy of the calculation of frames formed by thin-walled open-section bars is presented. The existing bar models for analysis of frame systems consisting of open-section bars subjected to restrained torsion require improvement.

Dynamic Analysis of Tapered Thin‐Walled Beams Using Spectral Finite Element Method

open access: yesShock and Vibration, Volume 2019, Issue 1, 2019., 2019
Tapered thin‐walled structures have been widely used in wind turbine and rotor blade. In this paper, a spectral finite element model is developed to investigate tapered thin‐walled beam structures, in which torsion related warping effect is included. First, a set of fully coupled governing equations are derived using Hamilton’s principle to account for

Warping Torsional and Distortional Stress of Composited Box Girder with Corrugated Steel Webs

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2018, Issue 1, 2018., 2018
The torsional behaviors of composite box girders with corrugated steel webs are more obvious than traditional concrete girders due to the lower torsional rigidity. In this paper, the torsion and distortion of this kind of composite girder are studied.

Free Vibration Analysis of a Thin‐Walled Beam with Shear Sensitive Material

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
This paper presents a method for a free vibration analysis of a thin‐walled beam of doubly asymmetric cross section filled with shear sensitive material. In the study, first of all, a dynamic transfer matrix method was obtained for planar shear flexure and torsional motion.

Bars under Torsional Loading: A Generalized Beam Theory Approach

open access: yesInternational Scholarly Research Notices, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
In this paper both the static and dynamic analyses of the geometrically linear or nonlinear, elastic or elastoplastic nonuniform torsion problems of bars of constant or variable arbitrary cross section are presented together with the corresponding research efforts and the conclusions drawn from examined cases with great practical interest.

[Retracted] A Numerical Model for Torsion Analysis of Composite Ship Hulls

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2012, Issue 1, 2012., 2012
A new methodology based on a macroelement model proposed for torsional behaviour of the ship hull made of composite material is proposed in this paper. A computer program has been developed for the elastic analysis of linear torsion. The results are compared with the FEM‐based licensed soft COSMOS/M results and measurements on the scale simplified ...
