Mitochondria Dictate Progressive Versus Bimodal Aging of the Mammary Gland
Breast cancer shows a bimodal age distribution with a peak at 45 and higher peak at 65. Using mice with different mitochondrial genomes, we show progressive and bimodal patterns of aging of the mammary gland with distinct pro‐tumorigenic age windows. This finding may shed light on the bimodal distribution in humans.

ABSTRACT To safeguard global food security against rapid population growth and a warming world, the effective genetic improvement of cereals is imperative. Flower opening time (FOT) critically affects the seed setting rate. In this study, we identified a gene, EARLY‐MORNING FLOWERING 3 (EMF3), in which single‐nucleotide substitutions strongly modulate ...

ABSTRACT Striped stem borer (SSB; Chilo suppressalis Walker) is one of the most destructive pests in rice production. Previous studies have demonstrated that SSB infestation induces transcription of OsT5H (tryptamine‐5‐hydroxylase) and biosynthesis of serotonin, a newly recognised phytohormone, and that disruption of serotonin biosynthesis ...

ABSTRACT Microorganism and plant interactions are crucial for development and environmental adaptation. Plant growth promoting bacteria enhance agricultural productivity in a sustainable manner, while epigenetic modifications such as DNA methylation regulate gene expression and adaptive responses.

Honeydew: A Fluorescent Aptamer for Low‐Cost Azo Food Dyes
Light‐up RNA aptamers that bind nonfluorescent dyes and conditionally activate their fluorescence are powerful tools for RNA imaging and biomolecular sensing. A barrier to widespread adoption of this technology is a reliance on bespoke dyes prepared by labor‐intensive or costly custom synthesis.

A Millisecond Pulsar in an Eclipsing Binary
Nature, 1988We report the discovery of a remarkable pulsar with period 1.6 ms, moving in a nearly circular 9.17 hour orbit around a low mass companion star. At an observing frequency of 430 MHz, the pulsar, PSR 1957+20, is eclipsed once each orbit for about 50 minutes.
