Binary data flow visualization on factorial axes

2007
Data streams are one of the most relevant new data sources, they refer to flows of data that come at a very high rate. Let us consider a stock-exchange market, where n different stocks with p considered attributes (e.g. price, quantity, seller/buyer id, . . .) are negotiated all day long.

Liminosity distribution function for visual binary stars

Astrophysics and Space Science, 1985
The ‘cosmic scatter’ of 147 of the best known visual binary stars on the Main Sequence is discussed and a new estimation of the luminosity distribution function for multiple star systems is presented. As long as the mass ratio q of a close binary is not smaller than 0.5, the distribution of close binary components is identical to the van Rhijn ...

Lexon visualization:visualizing binary fact types in ontology bases

Proceedings. Eighth International Conference on Information Visualisation, 2004. IV 2004., 2004
Ontology bases are sets of binary fact types called lexons. This paper discusses LexoVis, a lexon visualization tool that addresses the inherent size and scale of ontology bases. LexoVis facilitates the analysis of lexons by taking a well-ordered approach and provides overview and detail by employing the graphical fisheye view.

Dtermination of Visual Binary Orbits

1978
The problem of computing orbital elements of a binary from a set of observed positions is formally analogous to the case of orbits in the planetary system, yet in practice there is little resemblance between the methods. The motion of the earth is insignificant (or easily allowed for in the spectroscopic and photometric cases) which greatly simplifies ...
