How breathing disrupts vision: hyperventilation‐induced hypocapnia impairs oculomotor responses in resting humans

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Hypocapnic hyperventilation reduced end‐tidal carbon dioxide partial pressure and middle cerebral artery mean velocity, and impaired oculomotor response by modulating visual fixation and anti‐saccadic control. Hyperventilation itself also impaired anti‐saccadic control.

Selective Disruption of Salience‐Network Anterior Insula Connectivity in Misophonia: A Disorder‐Specific Neural Signature

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 3, February 15, 2026.
Using resting‐state functional connectivity in a large sample of adults from the general population, our results provide neural evidence that misophonia is a discrete spectrum disorder (separate from anxiety, depression, and autism) and has a characteristic neural signature of salience insular connectivity. ABSTRACT Misophonia, a disorder characterized

Lesion Location and Functional Connections Reveal Cognitive Impairment Networks in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, Volume 13, Issue 2, Page 242-255, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective Cognitive impairment, fatigue, and depression are common in multiple sclerosis (MS), potentially due to disruption of regional functional connectivity caused by white matter (WM) lesions. We explored whether WM lesions functionally connected to specific brain regions contribute to these MS‐related manifestations.

Steep‐Switching Memory FET for Noise‐Resistant Reservoir Computing System

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 10, 2 February 2026.
We demonstrate the steep‐switching memory FET with CuInP2S6/h‐BN/α‐In2Se3 heterostructure for application in noise‐resistant reservoir computing systems. The proposed device achieves steep switching characteristics (SSPGM = 19 mV/dec and SSERS = 23 mV/dec) through stabilization between CuInP2S6 and h‐BN.

Single‐Field Evolution Rule Governs the Dynamics of Representational Drift in Mouse Hippocampal Dorsal CA1 Region

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 8, 9 February 2026.
Long‐term hippocampal place‐code dynamics are investigated using calcium imaging across weeks of maze navigation. Analyses reveal a novelty‐irrelevant Single‐Field Evolution Rule (SFER), where active fields promote persistence and inactive fields decline.

An Ultrathin, Cyano‐Functionalized Copolymeric Memristor by iCVD Process for Driving Convolutional Neural Networks of High‐Resolution Images

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 8, 9 February 2026.
Two‐terminal polymer memristors based on cyano‐functionalized copolymer films are developed via a solvent‐free, initiated chemical vapor deposition (iCVD) process for high‐resolution image classification. Molecularly engineered p(CEA‐co‐DEGDVE) films enable stable, linear, and symmetric conductance modulation, supporting multi‐level weight mapping in ...

Bidirectional Photoadaptive Organic Heterojunction Synaptic Transistors for Accurate Image Recognition in Machine Vision Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, 3 February 2026.
Bidirectional photoadaptive organic synaptic phototransistors are developed using complementary n–n and n‐p heterojunctions. These devices enable intelligent in‐sensor processing, markedly enhancing image contrast and edge features under adverse lighting, and achieve a recognition accuracy of 97.4% within ten training cycles for machine vision ...

Compact Optical Reservoir Computing via Luminescence Dynamics in Rare‐Earth Ions‐Doped Nanocrystals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, 3 February 2026.
A functionally compact optical reservoir computing platform is demonstrated using rare‐earth ion‐doped nanocrystals, whose intrinsic nonlinear luminescence dynamics and multi‐timescale metastable states provide nonlinear mapping and fading memory without bulky delays or resonant structures.

Al Nanoparticle‐Decorated Metal Oxide Synaptic Transistors for Ultralow‐Energy Neuromorphic Computing with Wide Dynamic Range

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 9, 13 February 2026.
A nanoparticle‐engineered electrolyte‐gated memtransistor is introduced as a materials‐level strategy to overcome the intrinsic trade‐off between energy consumption and synaptic precision. By embedding aluminum nanoparticles at the oxide–electrolyte interface to modulate ion trapping dynamics, the device achieves stable multistate plasticity under ...

Cellpose+, a Morphological Analysis Tool for Feature Extraction of Stained Cell Images

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, Volume 2, Issue 1, February 2026.
We introduce Cellpose plus, a morphological and geometrical analysis tool for feature extraction of stained cell images built over Cellpose, a state‐of‐the‐art cell segmentation framework. We also introduce a dataset of DAPI and FITC stained cells to which our new method is applied.
