Trap‐Assisted Transport and Neuromorphic Plasticity in Lead‐Free 2D Perovskites PEA2SnI4

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An artificial retina built from lead‐free layered perovskite (PEA)2SnI4 converts light input into a persistent photocurrent and sums successive flashes over time. Micro/nanocrystals integrated on electrodes act as synapse‐like pixels that perform temporal integration directly in hardware. This in‐sensor preprocessing merges detection and computation on

First direct comparison of non-disrupting neutron star-black hole and binary black hole merger simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We present the first direct comparison of numerical simulations of neutron star-black hole and black hole-black hole mergers in full general relativity. We focus on a configuration with non spinning objects and within the most likely range of mass ratio ...

LAST ORBITS OF BINARY BLACK HOLES [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 2002
Binary black hole systems in the pre-coalescence stage are numerically constructed by demanding that the associated spacetime admits a helical Killing vector. Comparison with third order post-Newtonian calculations indicates a rather good agreement until the innermost stable circular orbit.

Intrinsic Nanopore‐Assisted SnP2S6 Memristors With Ti Ion Dynamics for Compact Logic‐In‐Memory Hardware

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Tin hexathiophosphate memristors leverage intrinsic nanopores together with a guided filament formation strategy to regulate titanium ion motion and switching behavior. The devices support reliable nonvolatile memory and reconfigurable logic‐in‐memory, demonstrating 14 Boolean logic functions in a single cell.

Electrocatalytic Reduction of CO2 to Ethylene: Catalyst Design and Synchrotron‐Based Characterizations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review evaluates strategies for electrochemical CO2 reduction to ethylene, focusing on copper‐based catalyst design and microenvironment modulation to achieve industrial‐grade performance. By leveraging operando synchrotron‐based characterizations, we provide a multiscale understanding of dynamic structural transformations and key reaction ...

Black hole spectroscopy for precessing binary black hole coalescences

open access: yesPhysical Review D
The spectroscopic study of black hole quasinormal modes in gravitational-wave ringdown observations is hindered by our ignorance of which modes should dominate astrophysical signals for different binary configurations, limiting tests of general relativity and astrophysics. In this work, we present a description of the quasinormal modes that are excited

A New 3D Colon on a Chip to Decipher the Influence of Mechanical Forces on the Physiological Cellular Ecosystem

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
To dissect how mechanical forces influence intestinal physiology, we developed a stretchable 3D colon‐on‐chip that integrates tunable topography, stiffness and peristalsis‐like motion within a physiologically relevant microenvironment. We showed that stretching is a dominant factor governing epithelial behavior, markedly enhancing proliferation and ...

Relativistic Binary Pulsars with Black Hole Companions [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2005
Binaries containing a stellar-mass black hole and a recycled radio pulsar have so far eluded detection. We present a focused investigation of the formation and evolution of these systems in the Galactic disk, highlighting the factors that limit their numbers and the reasons why they may be extremely rare.

New code for equilibriums and quasiequilibrium initial data of compact objects. II. Convergence tests and comparisons of binary black hole initial data

open access: yes, 2012
COCAL is a code for computing equilibriums or quasiequilibrium initial data of single or binary compact objects based on finite difference methods. We present the results of supplementary convergence tests of COCAL code using time symmetric binary black ...
