3D In Vitro Models of Breast Cancer: Current Challenges and Future Prospects Toward Recapitulating the Microenvironment and Mimicking Key Processes

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
In vitro cancer models are advantageous for studying important processes such as tumorigenesis, cancer growth, invasion, and metastasis. The complexity and biological relevance increase depending on the model structure, organization, and composition of materials and cells.

Theoretical Refrigeration Cycle Analysis of HFC125/HCs Binary Mixtures

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2004
HFC125/HCs binary mixtures were proposed to be substitute refrigerants. Based on the NIST REFPROP Database, the performances of the theoretical refrigeration cycle were calculated in and analyzed. The COP of the mixture with optimal composition is about

Multi‐step incremental ADC with extended binary counting

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2016
A multi‐step incremental ADC (IADC) with extended binary counting is proposed. It achieves high accuracy by splitting one conversion cycle into two serial steps. During the first step, the ADC works as a first‐order IADC (IADC1).

Short rainbow cycles in graphs and matroids

open access: yes, 2020
Let $G$ be a simple $n$-vertex graph and $c$ be a colouring of $E(G)$ with $n$ colours, where each colour class has size at least $2$. We prove that $(G,c)$ contains a rainbow cycle of length at most $\lceil \frac{n}{2} \rceil$, which is best possible ...

Investigating the Cellular Effects of GALC Dosing in Enzyme Replacement Therapy for Krabbe Disease Supports the Role of Nanomedicine

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
A detailed workflow for recombinant GALC production and characterization is presented to support enzyme replacement therapy for Krabbe disease. In vitro assays demonstrate that physiological GALC doses restore enzymatic activity and autophagic flux without affecting cell viability, whereas higher doses impair autophagy and reduce viability.

The chromospherically active binary star EI Eridani II. Long-term Doppler imaging

open access: yes, 2008
Data from 11 years of continuous spectroscopic observations of the active RS CVn-type binary star EI Eridani - gained at NSO/McMath-Pierce, KPNO/Coude Feed and during the MUSICOS 98 campaign - were used to obtain 34 Doppler maps in three spectroscopic ...

Infrared Neural Stimulation Elicits Distinct Molecular Pathways in Astrocytes Based on Laser Pulse Parameters

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Infrared (IR) light evokes distinct calcium and water transport responses in astrocytes, depending on stimulation duration and protocol. This study uses widefield imaging and pharmacology to reveal differential engagement of astroglial signaling pathways.

A reconfigurable binary/ternary logic conversion-in-memory based on drain-aligned floating-gate heterojunction transistors

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
A new type of heterojunction non-volatile memory transistor (H-MTR) has been developed, in which the negative transconductance (NTC) characteristics can be controlled systematically by a drain-aligned floating gate.

Highly Scalable Neuromorphic Hardware with 1-bit Stochastic nano-Synapses

open access: yes, 2013
Thermodynamic-driven filament formation in redox-based resistive memory and the impact of thermal fluctuations on switching probability of emerging magnetic switches are probabilistic phenomena in nature, and thus, processes of binary switching in these ...
