Relationship between Energy and Atmosphere (EA) Credits and Project Size in the LEED-NC Version 3 (v3) and 4 (v4) Projects

open access: yesBuildings, 2021
This study aims to explore the influence of project size on the Energy and Atmosphere (EA) credits in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for New Construction and Major Renovations (LEED-NC) version 3 (v3) in California and version 4 (v4 ...

Social context prevents heat hormetic effects against mutagens during fish development

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study shows that sublethal heat stress protects fish embryos against ultraviolet radiation, a concept known as ‘hormesis’. However, chemical stress transmission between fish embryos negates this protective effect. By providing evidence for the mechanistic molecular basis of heat stress hormesis and interindividual stress communication, this study ...

Influence of components structure and composition of binary mixtures of organic compounds on toxicity towards Daphnia Magna

open access: yesTrudy Odesskogo Politehničeskogo Universiteta, 2015
Simplex representation of molecular structure is employed for consensus QSAR analysis of toxicity towards Daphnia magna of sodium salts of α-alkoxycarbonylsulfuric acids, aliphatic n-alcohols, phenols and their binary mixtures. The structure of a mixture

Nomogram model predicts the risk of visual impairment in diabetic retinopathy: a retrospective study

open access: yesBMC Ophthalmology, 2022
Background To develop a model for predicting the risk of visual impairment in diabetic retinopathy (DR) by a nomogram. Methods Patients with DR who underwent both optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) and fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA ...

Response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in early breast cancers is associated with epithelial–mesenchymal transition and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are associated with early breast cancer response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC). This study evaluated EMT and TIL shifts, with immunofluorescence and RNA sequencing, at diagnosis and in residual tumors as potential biomarkers associated with treatment response.

Plasma lipidomic and metabolomic profiles in high‐grade glioma patients before and after 72‐h presurgery water‐only fasting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.

Mediating role of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio in association between polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and mild cognitive impairment

open access: yes环境与职业医学, 2023
BackgroundAs a group of environmental pollutants, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are neurotoxic and may cause mild cognitive impairment (MCI) by inducing inflammation. Whether neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), an inflammatory indicator, plays a

Elucidating prognostic significance of purine metabolism in colorectal cancer through integrating data from transcriptomic, immunohistochemical, and single‐cell RNA sequencing analysis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low expression of five purine metabolism‐related genes (ADSL, APRT, ADCY3, NME3, NME6) was correlated with poor survival in colorectal cancer. Immunohistochemistry analysis showed that low NME3 (early stage) and low ADSL/NME6 (late stage) levels were associated with high risk.
