The Binary Adder: A Flow Chart for the Addition of Binary Numbers
The Mathematics Teacher, 1973Flowcharting has proved extremely useful in activities ranging from programmed instruction to computer programming. Flowcharting binary addition offers students a mathematical setting for an excellent initial experience in flow charting.

A digital comparator for binary or binary-coded decimal numbers
Nuclear Instruments and Methods, 1964Abstract This paper examines the problem of comparing two binary or binary-coded decimal numbers to determine which is the greater or to recognise equality when it occurs. It is shown that this problem can be economically and conveniently solved by means of standard NOR and NAND circuits, with all the engineering advantages that the implies.

Number Systems and Binary Codes
2020Decimal numbers are converted into binary numbers for digital processing applications. In addition to binary number system, octal and hexadecimal number systems are also used for digital processing. Apart from numeric data, digital signal processing requires analog data. Binary codes are used to represent analog data.

Binary Numbers, Hexadecimal Numbers, and Registers
2019In current computers, bits are the smallest piece of information; a bit can have a value of 1 or 0. In this chapter, we will investigate how bits are combined to represent data, such as integers or floating-point values. The decimal representation of values, which is so intuitive to humans, is not ideal for computers to work with.
