Eccentric Binary Millisecond Pulsars

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper we review the recent discovery of several millisecond pulsars (MSPs) in eccentric binary systems. Timing these MSPs we were able to estimate (and in one case precisely measure) their masses. These results suggest that, as a class, MSPs have a much wider range of masses (1.3 to > 2 solar masses) than the normal and mildly recycled ...

Discovery of 15 New Pulsars at High Galactic Latitudes with FAST

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present the discovery and timing results for 15 pulsars discovered in a high-Galactic-latitude survey conducted with the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope.

Geodetic Precession in Binary Pulsars [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1987
We have calculated the probability of observing geodetic precession in the binary pulsar PSR1913+16 for several different progenitor systems. Such an observation would support the asymmetric kick hypothesis for the origin of pular velocities. The results are shown to be dependent on the assumed progenitor but not to a strong degree.

Probing the presence of a single or binary black hole in the globular cluster NGC 6752 with pulsar dynamics

open access: yes, 2003
The five millisecond pulsars that inhabit NGC 6752 display locations or accelerations that are quite unusual compared to all other pulsars known in globular clusters. In particular PSR-A, a binary pulsar, lives in the cluster halo, while PSR-B and PSR-E,
