The Intrabinary Shock and Companion Star of Redback Pulsar J2215+5135

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
PSR J2215+5135 (J2215) is a “redback” spider pulsar, where the intrabinary shock (IBS) wraps around the pulsar rather than the stellar-mass companion. Spider orbital light curves are modulated, dominated by their binary companion thermal emission in the ...

The GMRT High Resolution Southern Sky Survey for Pulsars and Transients. IV. Discovery of Four New Pulsars with an FFA Search

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
The fast Fourier transform (FFT) based periodicity search methods provide an efficient way to search for millisecond and binary pulsars but encounter significant sensitivity degradation while searching for long period and short duty cycle pulsars.

Irradiation effect and binary radio pulsars with giant companions [PDF]

open access: yesA&A 690, A88 (2024)
Pulsars are neutron stars that rotate rapidly. Most of the pulsars in binary systems tend to spin faster than those in isolation. According to binary evolution theory, radio pulsars in binary systems can have various types of companion stars. However, binary radio pulsars with giant stars, helium stars, and black holes as companions are lacking so far.

Millisecond Pulsars, their Evolution and Applications

open access: yes, 2017
Millisecond pulsars (MSPs) are short-period pulsars that are distinguished from "normal" pulsars, not only by their short period, but also by their very small spin-down rates and high probability of being in a binary system.

Origin of the Binary Pulsar J0737-3039B

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2005
Evolutionary scenarios suggest that the progenitor of the new binary pulsar J0737-3039B \cite{ref1,ref2} was a He-star with $M > 2.1-2.3~\Ms$ \cite{ref3,ref4}. We show that this case implies that the binary must have a large ($>120$ km/s) center of mass velocity.

Single Millisecond Pulsars from Dynamical Interaction Processes in Dense Star Clusters

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Globular clusters (GCs) are particularly efficient at forming millisecond pulsars. Among these pulsars, about half lack a companion star, a significantly higher fraction than in the Galactic field.

Genetic modification of Water spinach (Ipomoea aquatica), a genoprotective perennial leafy green

open access: yesPhysiologia Plantarum, Volume 177, Issue 3, May/June 2025.
Abstract Improvement of leafy greens, especially perennials with year‐round harvesting, is binding to the food security drive. “Food for All” by WHO demands the improvement of regional crops due to the agroclimatic specificity to ensure regional food security.

Black hole/pulsar binaries in the Galaxy [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society: Letters, 2018
ABSTRACT We have performed population synthesis calculation on the formation of binaries containing a black hole (BH) and a neutron star (NS) in the Galactic disc. Some of important input parameters, especially for the treatment of common envelope evolution, are updated in the calculation.

Decade-long Timing Study of the Black Widow Millisecond Pulsar J1544+4937

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
Results from 11 yr of radio timing for the eclipsing black widow millisecond pulsar (MSP) binary J1544+4937 is presented in this paper. We report a phase-connected timing model for this MSP, using observations with the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope ...

Minimum Accretion Rate for Millisecond Pulsar Formation in Binary System [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Astronomical Union, IAU Symposium,2013, Volume 290, pp. 291-292, 2013
186 binary pulsars are shown in the magnetic field versus spin period (B-P) dia- gram, and their relations to the millisecond pulsars can be clearly seen. We declaim a minimum accretion rate for the millisecond pulsar formation both from the observation and theory.
