Objectives This study aims to develop hip morphology‐based radiographic hip osteoarthritis (RHOA) risk prediction models and investigates the added predictive value of hip morphology measurements and the generalizability to different populations. Methods We combined data from nine prospective cohort studies participating in the World COACH consortium ...

The Formation of Double Hot Jupiter Systems through von Zeipel–Lidov–Kozai Migration
The von Zeipel–Lidov–Kozai (ZLK) mechanism with tidal friction has been demonstrated as a promising avenue to generate hot Jupiters in stellar binary systems.

Objective We conducted formative research aimed at identifying solutions that address inequitable health outcomes in lupus due to adverse social determinants of health. Methods We conducted a search for keywords which provided insights into potential solutions and initiatives underway. An advisory panel of lupus experts iteratively reviewed the list of

Fundamental Parameters of a Binary System Consisting of a Red Dwarf and a Compact Star
TIC 157365951 has been classified as a δ Scuti type by the International Variable Star Index. Through the spectra from Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope and its light curve, we further discovered that it is a binary system.

New Binary and Millisecond Pulsars from Arecibo Drift-Scan Searches [PDF]
We discuss four recycled pulsars found in Arecibo drift-scan searches. PSR J1944+0907 has a spin period of 5.2 ms and is isolated. The 5.8-ms pulsar J1453+19 may have a low-mass companion.

Binary companions of evolved stars in APOGEE DR14: Orbital circularization
Short-period binary star systems dissipate orbital energy through tidal interactions that lead to tighter, more circular orbits. When at least one star in a binary has evolved off of the main sequence, orbital circularization occurs for longer-period ...

Objective The objective was to identify factors determining acute arthritis resolution and safety with colchicine and prednisone in acute calcium pyrophosphate (CPP) crystal arthritis. Methods We conducted a post hoc analysis of the COLCHICORT trial, which compared colchicine and prednisone for the treatment of acute CPP crystal arthritis, using a ...

The Case for Edge-on Binaries: An Avenue Toward Comparative Exoplanet Demographics
Most Sun-like and higher-mass stars reside in systems that include one or more gravitationally bound stellar companions. These systems offer an important probe of planet formation in the most common stellar systems, while also providing key insights into

Objectives The objectives of this study were to evaluate the correlation and agreement between ultrasound and computed tomography (CT) in measuring ascending aorta diameter in patients with giant cell arteritis (GCA) and to investigate the development of new ascending aortic aneurysms in patients with newly diagnosed GCA. Methods To achieve the primary

Bumpy Superluminous Supernovae Powered by a Magnetar–Star Binary Engine
Wolf–Rayet stars in close binary systems can be tidally spun up by their companions, potentially leaving behind fast-spinning, highly magnetized neutron stars, known as “magnetars,” after core collapse.
