Converting Weak Binders into Infinite Binders
Bioconjugate Chemistry, 2004Monoclonal antibody 2D12.5 binds DOTA chelates of all the rare earths with K(d) approximately 10(-)(8) M, making it useful for the capture of probe molecules with a variety of properties. To make 2D12.5 even more useful for biological applications, we have engineered a single cysteine residue at position 54 of the heavy chain, a site proximal to the ...

Proceedings of the 2013 ACM MobiCom workshop on Lowest cost denominator networking for universal access, 2013
We present a novel system termed Binder that seamlessly aggregates multiple geographically distributed Internet gateways in community networks. The proxy based approach taken in Binder allows for applications on end-user devices to enjoy the benefits from gateway aggregation without requiring any modifications.

Next-Generation Phosphate Binders: Focus on Iron-Based Binders
Drugs, 2014Phosphate excess is associated with increased mortality in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and has recently been linked to accelerated aging. Oral phosphate binders are prescribed to patients with CKD to prevent absorption of dietary phosphate. Currently available binders have been associated with impaired outcomes (calcium-based binders) or

Reasons for Phosphate Binder Discontinuation Vary by Binder Type
Journal of Renal Nutrition, 2014Nonadherence to phosphate binder regimen is common among end-stage renal disease patients and contributes to elevated phosphorus levels. Pill burden, side effects, complex regimens, and cost all contribute to nonadherence. We retrospectively analyzed reasons for discontinuation in hemodialysis patients receiving treatment at a large U.S.
