Styrene and its natural analogues: accumulation and sustainable production methods

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract Styrene, also known as vinyl benzene, is a colourless, highly volatile petrochemical that serves as a key monomer in the production of polystyrene and styrene‐butadiene rubber. Its industrial synthesis via the alkylation of benzene with ethylene relies on fossil fuels, requiring high temperatures and toxic catalysts that contribute to ...

Coke formation during the hydrotreatment of bio-oil using NiMo and CoMo catalysts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This study aims to investigate the coke formation during the hydrotreatment of bio-oil at low temperature. The catalytic hydrotreatment of bio-oil produced from the pyrolysis of mallee wood was carried out using pre-sulphided NiMo and CoMo catalysts at a

The Application of Hydrochar Composite Briquettes for Sustainable Slag Foaming in the Electric Arc Furnace Process

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Hydrochar‐mill‐scale briquettes with varying C/O molar ratios (0.07–0.90) have been tested at 1650 °C to evaluate their slag foaming performance for electric arc furnace application. All seven briquette recipes developed succeed in promoting slag foaming.

The wider network of social relationships and desistance from crime

open access: yesCriminology, EarlyView.
Abstract Prior research has focused on marriage as a key relationship associated with crime cessation. Yet particularly within the contemporary context, relationships with parents, peers, and other family members may also foster or inhibit progress toward desistance.
