A New Bio-Heat Transfer Model and Its Application for Concealed Perspiration

Advances in Bioengineering, 2002
A human being’s limb can be modeled in terms of three physiological layers from inside to outside in the radial direction: the bone, the muscle and the skin as shown in Fig. 1. The skin layer could be regarded as a kind of porous tissue at macro-scale, though it is not a perfect porous material.

Bio-Heat Transfer in a Model Skin Subject to a Train of Short Pulse Irradiation

Volume 10: Heat Transfer, Fluid Flows, and Thermal Systems, Parts A, B, and C, 2008
Thermal analysis of biological tissues subject to a train of ultrashort pulse irradiations was made of developing a combined time-dependent radiation and conduction bio-heat transfer model. A model skin tissue stratified as three layers with different optical, thermal and physiological properties was considered.

Modelling Bio-heat transfer in Breast Cysts using Finite Element analysis

2014 International Conference on Informatics, Electronics & Vision (ICIEV), 2014
In this work, an attempt is made to simulate the skin temperature profile of breasts in the presence of Cysts. For the first time a study comparing the temperature profiles of normal breasts with Breast Cysts is undertaken. Heat transfer mechanism is modelled as the Penne's Bio-heat equation on 2D breast sections.

Analytico-numerical study of bio-heat transfer problems with temperature-dependent perfusion

The European Physical Journal Plus, 2015
We consider the one-dimensional bio-heat transfer problems with linear temperature-dependent blood perfusion and spatially distributed heating which describe heat transport in blood perfused tissues. Analytical methods for solving nonlinear partial differential equations are combined with the Crank-Nicholson scheme to study several selected typical bio-

The Effect of the Shape and Size of Gold Seeds Irradiated with Ultrasound on the Bio-Heat Transfer in Tissue

2014
The aim of this report is to propose a new methodology to treat prostate cancer with macro-rod-shaped gold seeds irradiated with ultrasound and develop a new computational method for temperature and thermal dose control of hyperthermia therapy induced by the proposed procedure.

Analysis of Bio-Heat Transfer in the System Blood Vessel — Biological Tissue

2001
In the paper the mathematical model of heat transfer processes in the system single blood vessel — biological tissue is presented. The mathematical model bases on the Pennes equation determining the temperature field in tissue sub-domain and the equation describing the change of blood temperature along the vessel.
