The Bioaccumulation, Fractionation and Health Risk of Rare Earth Elements in Wild Fish of Guangzhou City, China. [PDF]

open access: yesAnimals (Basel)
In this study, the total content of REEs ranged from 1.32 to 67.74 μg/kg, with a predominant presence of light REEs. The ΔEu and ΔCe values, which exceeded and approached 1, respectively, indicated positive Eu anomalies and low Ce anomalies.

Investigation of Bioaccumulation Capacity of Barley for Soil Lead and Chromium under Drought Stress Conditions [PDF]

open access: yesمجله آب و خاک, 2021
Introduction: The use of sewage sludge, which is mixed locally with poultry waste and is available at a relatively low cost, improves the circulation of nutrients and organic matter in the soil, reduces the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere, and ...

A Systematic Review of Nano- and Microplastic (NMP) Influence on the Bioaccumulation of Environmental Contaminants: Part I—Soil Organisms

open access: yesToxics, 2023
Nano- and microplastics (NMPs) are a group of contaminants that cause concern due to their abundance in the environment, high persistence, and interaction with other contaminants.

The Content, Uptake and Bioaccumulation Factor of Copper and Nickel in Grass Depending on Zinc Application and Organic Fertilization

open access: yesAgriculture, 2023
Different content of Zn in the soil and organic fertilization can affect micronutrient uptake by plants. A pot experiment was carried out to determine the impact of increasing Zn application rates, i.e., 200, 400 and 600 Zn mg·kg−1, in combination with ...

Estimating the Effect of pH, Moisture and Heavy Metals Interaction on Worm’s Bioaccumulation Using a Linear Model [PDF]

open access: yesEnvironmental Resources Research, 2016
In the process of vermicomposting, the earthworms Eisenia fetida have been exposed to various metals with different concentrations to study the effects on worms’ bioaccumulation. The study was carried within 14 days of exposure.

Systematic Review of Nano- and Microplastics’ (NMP) Influence on the Bioaccumulation of Environmental Contaminants: Part II—Freshwater Organisms

open access: yesToxics, 2023
Nano- and microplastic fragments (NMPs) exist ubiquitously in all environmental compartments. The literature-based evidence suggests that NMPs interact with other environmental contaminants in freshwater ecosystems through sorption mechanisms, thereby ...

Bioaccumulation of polybrominated diphenyl ethers by Tubifex tubifex

open access: yesActa Chimica Slovenica, 2016
Selective uptake of PBDEs by oligochaete allows the assessment of the bioaccumulation of individual congeners in commercial mixtures. 21 congeners from three BDE commercial mixtures (TBDE-71, TBDE-79 and TBDE-83R) and as individual congeners (BDE-77, BDE-
