Tubular pyrolysis synthesis is a widespread method to produce activated carbons (ACs). This review focuses on the different controlling parameters of the tubular pyrolysis synthesis method and their influence on the performance of synthesized ACs, thereby considering both experimental aspects and the use of plant‐based biomasses (PBBs) as feedstock ...

ABSTRACT This paper investigates the effects of two greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation practices—minimum tillage and mid‐season drainage—on rice farmers' farm performance (e.g., crop yield and risk) and economic outcomes (e.g., income and vulnerability).

Abstract We reconsider one of the most widely studied behavioral biases: anchoring effects. We estimate that study designs in this literature, including replication studies, routinely fail to achieve statistical power of more than 30%. This study replicates an anchoring study that reported an effect size of a 31% increase in participants' bids.

Expert opinions regarding the concept of blue carbon in seaweed systems
SUMMARY A collection of expert opinions critically evaluates the role of seaweed in blue carbon strategies for climate change mitigation. While the concept of fast‐growing seaweed to capture atmospheric carbon is appealing, the experts largely agree that its potential for direct, long‐term carbon sequestration is currently overstated and faces ...

Society is faced with the significant challenge of meeting growing demands for food and energy while adapting to the impacts of climate change, loss of agricultural land, degraded soil quality and limited water supplies. Biochar is a critical path technology that addresses pressing food/water security needs while simultaneously mitigating the ...
