A note on bedroom bioclimate

Archiv für Meteorologie, Geophysik und Bioklimatologie Serie B, 1962
A three-month survey of bedroom climate in the transition season from spring to summer in the Washington, D. C., area is presented. It showed nearly complete independence from outdoor conditions during the period when central heating was needed and windos were closed.

Bioclimate of three varieties of oat

Agricultural Meteorology, 1976
Abstract The bioclimate in plots of three oat varieties grown under three different water regimes (unmodified, drier, and wetter plots) was studied. The bioclimate measurements were combined with soil water determinations and growth and production measurements.

Assessment of human bioclimate based on thermal response

International Journal of Biometeorology, 1985
To assess the thermal component of human climate, the adequacy of two body-environment energy balance models is tested. Requirements are that these models should include the full range of atmospheric variables using a system which embraces both the attributes of those exposed and the functional attributes of the environment.

Thermal bioclimate in Strasbourg - the 2003 heat wave

Theoretical and Applied Climatology, 2009
This case study highlights the implications of the 2003 heat wave for the city of Strasbourg, France. The urban centers of France and other European countries were particularly affected by the heat wave. In some urban areas, the mortality rate was 60% above the expected value (Institute de Veille Sanitaire, 2003).

Bioclimate and city planning – open space planning

Atmospheric Environment, 1999
The planning and using of open spaces in urban areas very much depend on the shading of the surrounding building structures. This article presents a method for the investigation of the sunlight and the bioclimatic conditions in dependence on the surrounding buildings.

Heat Island and Thermal Bioclimate in Athens, Greece

2012
Urbanization and industrialization are the main causes of the well documented climatic phenomenon called heat island. As the problem is worse in big cities, more urban residents complain about discomfort conditions. In this context, the aim of the present study is a combinational approach of heat island and thermal bioclimate in the city of Athens. For

A New Map of Morocco Bioclimates

2014
The climate is one of the main factors influencing soil and vegetation degradation; his characteristics are evaluated by using the parameters that affect the availability of water rainfall, temperature, insolation and wind. Studies on the characterization of climate are needed to assess the constraints of different types of weather in terms of water ...
