Morphological and thermal properties of photodegradable biocomposite films

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2012
AbstractBiocomposites containing ultraviolet (UV) radiation absorbing inorganic nanofillers are of great interest in food packaging applications. The biodegradable polylactide (PLA) composite films were prepared by solvent casting method by incorporating 1 wt % of titanium dioxide (TiO2) and Ag‐TiO2 (silver nanoparticles decorated TiO2) nanoparticles ...

Properties of Sago Starch-Nanoclay Biocomposites Film

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
This paper reported on properties of sago starch that was compounded with montmorillonite (MMT) nanoclay to form biodegradable composites film. The film was fabricated via film casting method with glycerol as a plasticizer. The investigated biocomposites film was prepared at starch-glycerol/MMT weight fraction of 90/10, 85/15, 80/20 and 75/25.

Invertase-Lipid Biocomposite Films: Preparation, Characterization, and Enzymatic Activity

Biotechnology Progress, 2008
The formation of biocomposite films of the industrially important enzyme invertase and fatty lipids under enzyme-friendly conditions is described. The approach involves a simple beaker-based diffusion protocol wherein invertase diffuses into the cationic lipid octadecylamine during immersion of the lipid film in the enzyme solution.
