Progress and Application of Multifunctional Hydrogel in Radioactive Skin Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This review examines healing challenges in radiation‐wound injuries, where ionizing radiation impairs immune and tissue repair processes. Hydrogels, with their biocompatibility, antimicrobial properties, and drug delivery capabilities, present a transformative solution. It compares hydrogel efficacy in radiation‐induced versus common wounds, highlights

Designing biodegradable surfactants and effective biomolecules with dissipative particle dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
The design of a biodegradable, environmentally friendly surfactant is carried out, taking the structure of a known surfactant that lacks these qualities as the starting point, using mesoscopic computer simulations. The newly designed surfactant is found to perform at least as well as its predecessor, without the latter inimical characteristics.

Fate of phthalic acid esters during composting of both lagooning and activated sludges [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Among the phthalic acid esters (PAEs) targeted by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) as priority pollutants, di-ethyl-hexyl phthalate (DEHP) is the major pollutant identified at high concentration level in lagooning sludge (LS), at

Exploring 3D Printing and Electrospinning Technologies for Advanced Porous Membrane Fabrication: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This paper contrasts electrospinning and 3D printing for porous membrane fabrication, evaluating their evolution, cost, resolution, mechanical traits, and scalability. While 3D printing excels in material diversity and industrial adaptability, electrospinning achieves finer resolution and thermal resilience.

Biodegradation of 2-ethylhexyl nitrate (2-EHN) by Mycobacterium austroafricanum IFP 2173 [PDF]

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Microbiology 74 (2008) 6187-6193, 2009
2-Ethyhexyl nitrate (2-EHN) is a major additive of fuel which is used to comply with the cetane number of diesel. Because of its wide use and possible accidental release, 2-EHN is a potential pollutant of the environment. In this study, Mycobacterium austroafricanum IFP 2173 was selected among several strains as the best 2-EHN degrader.
