In this work, we addressed the major hurdle of developing novel Rhodococcus erythropolis biocatalysts with improved biodesulfurization ability. To do so, we promoted Rhodococcus capability of forming a biofilm through the heterologous expression of a diguanylate cyclase that led to the synthesis of the biofilm trigger molecule cyclic‐di‐GMP (c‐di‐GMP).

Biodesulfurization of Cayirhan Lignites
In this study, the lignite was improved oxidizing sulfur compounds by Thiobacillus thiooxidans and Thiobacillus ferrooxidans bacteria. Experiments in the batch reactors have been carried out 20% aqueous suspension of coal samples. Sugar beet molasses was used as the bacterial substrate.
