Abstract figure legend Sprint interval training (SIT) is a popular time‐efficient type of endurance training. Healthy young men performed nine SIT sessions (4–6 × 30 s all‐out cycling sprints) over 3 weeks while being supplemented with antioxidants (high doses of vitamins C and E) or placebo. Muscle biopsies taken before and after the first SIT session

ABSTRACT Mechanical properties of the deep muscle fascia are important in myofascial force transmission and injury; however, its investigation by shear wave elastography (SWE) in the literature is minimal. Regional differences in biarticular muscle stiffness have implications in mechanism of injury.

ABSTRACT Introduction For 1 in 5 individuals, an initial ankle sprain results in chronic ankle instability (CAI). Research is inconclusive as to whether individuals with CAI display decreased stability performance. This study conducted a participant‐level analysis to determine normative values for modified Star Excursion Balance Test (mSEBT ...

The effects of anxiety on balance parameters in young female university students.
In human beings, the balance control is a result of an integration of physical and psychological factors and people show different reactions when feel anxious or face stability threatened conditions such as standing on an unstable surface.

The Effect of Combined Fibular Reposition and Facilitatory Fibularis Longus Taping on Balance in Patients with Chronic Ankle Instability: A Randomized Clinical Trial [PDF]
Background: Ankle sprains are common musculoskeletal injuries in sports and physical activities, often leading to balance impairments. The research investigated the impact of combined fibular repositioning taping (FRT) and facilitatory fibularis longus ...

We evaluated the random permeable barrier model (RPBM) through simulations, model fitting, and in vivo analysis of 100 healthy adults. Simulations showed that stable estimates of muscle cell diameter and membrane permeability require constraining τ and fixing D0 at ~0.9 of axial diffusivity at long diffusion times.

Examination of balance measures produced by the biodex stability system.
Our purpose was to establish normal patterns and relationships of stability using the Biodex Stability System. The design of this study used both nonexperimental and quasi-experimental methods. All testing was performed in a university sports medicine laboratory.Nineteen healthy subjects (8 males, 11 females, age = 24.4 +/- 4.2 years; wt = 70.5 +/- 20 ...
