open access: yesJournal of Hymenoptera Research, 2018
The species diversity composition and phenological behaviour of four braconid subfamilies (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Agathidinae, Braconinae, Doryctinae and Macrocentrinae) were monitored in three vegetation communities (dune vegetation, tropical ...

Contact chemoreceptive mate recognition in Cerambyx welensii Küster (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) Mediación de la quimiorrecepción por contacto en el apareamiento en Cerambyx welensii Küster (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae)

open access: yesAgricultural and Forest Entomology, Volume 25, Issue 4, Page 622-636, November 2023., 2023
Abstract Cerambyx welensii Küster (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) is a wood‐borer responsible for the decline of Mediterranean oaks in open woodlands. To establish that contact pheromones are involved in mate recognition of C. welensii, we extracted the cuticular hydrocarbons by solid phase microextraction at pre‐reproductive, beginning and ending of the ...

Ecological convergence in phytochemistry and flower–insect visitor interactions along an Andean elevation gradient

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 13, Issue 8, August 2023., 2023
In this study, we detected patterns of ecological convergence along elevation in floral volatiles as well as cost–benefit ratio in seed versus pollinated seeds. Our results suggest that these evolutionary patterns are the result of biotic and abiotic pressures.

Nocturnal dissolved organic matter release by turf algae and its role in the microbialization of reefs

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 36, Issue 8, Page 2104-2118, August 2022., 2022
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract The increased release of dissolved organic matter (DOM) by algae has been associated with the fast but inefficient growth of opportunistic microbial pathogens and the ongoing degradation of coral reefs.

The effect of a mixed cannabidiol and cannabidiolic acid based oil on client‐owned dogs with atopic dermatitis

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 33, Issue 4, Page 329-e77, August 2022., 2022
Background– Cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) are reported to have antinociceptive, immunomodulatory and anti‐inflammatory actions. Objectives – To determine if CBD/CBDA is an effective therapy for canine atopic dermatitis (cAD). Conclusions and clinical relevance – Cannabidiol/CBDA as an adjunct therapy decreased pruritus, and not skin ...

Interacción entre el hongo endofítico Fusarium oxysporum cepa 162 y la bacteria endofítica Rhizobium etli cepa G12

open access: yesLa Calera, 2020
Las cepas de Fusarium no patogénicas son importantes para la producción de cultivos, ya que algunos de ellos han mostrado un efecto de inducción de resistencia en las plantas colonizadas, predisponiendo el sistema inmune de las plantas a defenderse ...
