Resolved and unresolved bioethical authenticity problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020

Metabolism study of 3‐chloromethcathinone (3‐CMC) by dried blood spot (DBS) sampling after controlled administration using a murine model

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
The metabolism of 3‐chloromethcathinone (3‐CMC) was studied after controlled administration in a murine model using the dried blood spot (DBS) technique for the sampling, storage and purification of blood samples. The metabolite profile of 3‐CMC was studied by LC‐HRMS, while the stability of 3‐CMC and its three identified metabolites was also assessed ...

Rapid and Effective Determination of Ethyl Glucuronide in Hair by Micro Extraction by Packed Sorbent (MEPS) and LC‐MS/MS

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
The development and validation of a MEPS method for the purification of hair extract for the EtG determination and quantification in the keratin matrix is the main focus of this study. The method is fast and effective and, as a miniaturised technique, requires only small amounts of solvent.

β‐Hydroxy β‐Methyl Butyric Acid (HMB) and Its Potential Doping Relevance: A Pilot Study on Its Urinary Excretion Profile

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
β‐hydroxy β‐methyl butyric acid (HMB), either as the free acid or in the form of its calcium salt, is a component of several dietary supplements marketed to enhance sports performance. We investigated the urinary excretion profile of HMB, also assessing the endogenous reference ranges of HMB in human urine samples from healthy volunteers (n = 20). Data

Rapid and Simple Dispersive Liquid–Liquid Microextraction (DLLME) Sample Preparation for Propofol Analysis in Hair, Blood, and Urine by Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
Development and validation of an extraction method based on dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction for the analysis by GC–MS of propofol in three different biological samples (blood, urine, and hair). The proposed method is very simple and rapid.

A two‐phase approach to identifying HFpEF in heart failure patients: Risk score evaluation and decision tree development

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims Heart failure (HF) with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) poses significant diagnostic challenges due to its complex aetiology and overlapping symptoms with other HF types. The heterogeneity of HFpEF, compounded by frequent comorbidities, complicates diagnosis. This study aimed to enhance HFpEF prediction through a two‐phase approach: a
