Overcoming Extreme Ammonia Inhibition on Methanogenesis by Artificially Constructing a Synergistically Community with Acidogenic Bacteria and Hydrogenotrophic Archaea

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study proposes a two‐step biological strategy to synergistically enhance the three stages of anaerobic digestion, ultimately eliminating the extreme ammonia inhibition and breaking through the inefficiency bottleneck of conventional biotechnology.

Ensemble Methods with Voting Protocols Exhibit Superior Performance for Predicting Cancer Clinical Endpoints and Providing More Complete Coverage of Disease-Related Genes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Genomics, 2018
In genetic data modeling, the use of a limited number of samples for modeling and predicting, especially well below the attribute number, is difficult due to the enormous number of genes detected by a sequencing platform.

Determination of Methane and Carbon Dioxide Formation Rate Constants for Semi-Continuously Fed Anaerobic Digesters

open access: yesEnergies, 2015
To optimize commercial-scale biogas production, it is important to evaluate the performance of each microbial step in the anaerobic process. Hydrolysis and methanogenesis are usually the rate-limiting steps during digestion of organic waste and by ...

Market Potential for CO$_2$ Removal and Sequestration from Renewable Natural Gas Production in California [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Sequestration (BECCS) is critical for stringent climate change mitigation, but is commercially and technologically immature and resource-intensive. In California, state and federal fuel and climate policies can drive first-markets for BECCS. We develop a spatially explicit optimization model to assess niche markets for

Intelligent monitoring system for biogas detection based on the Internet of Things: Mohammedia, Morocco city landfill case

open access: yesBig Data Mining and Analytics, 2021
Mechanization is a depollution activity, because it provides an energetic and ecological response to the problem of organic waste treatment. Through burning, biogas from mechanization reduces gas pollution from fermentation by a factor of 20.

Quantum Annealing Continuous Optimisation in Renewable Energy [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Renewable energy optimisation poses computationally-intensive challenges. Yet, often the continuous nature of the decision space precludes the use of many emerging, non-von-Neumann computing platforms such as quantum annealing, which are limited to discrete problems.
