Biogas plants in Denmark: successes and setbacks
Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, 2007With 20 centralised plants and over 35 farmscale plants, the digestion of manure and organic waste is a well established technological practice in Denmark. These plants did not emerge without a struggle. Moreover, no new centralised plants have been established since 1998 and the development of farmscale plants has slowed down. This article reviews the

Energy Sources, 2004
To meet the rural domestic energy needs, a design for 1–2 m3 Himshakti biogas plant is developed and evaluated. This design is also suitable for the topography with soils of stony strata and can be partly installed with locally available stones. 1 m3 and 2 m3 biogas plants cost Rs. 6491 ($138.1) and Rs. 9984 ($214.4), respectively.

Hygiene and Sanitation in Biogas Plants
2015The increasing number of agricultural biogas plants and higher amounts of digestate spread on agricultural land arouse a considerable interest in the hygiene situation of digested products. This chapter reviews the current knowledge on sanitation during anaerobic digestion and the hygienic status of digestate concerning a multitude of pathogens ...

Biogas Potential of Co-Substrates in Balinese Biogas Plants
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014This research aims to give an overview on how to improve the biogas yeild in Balinese digester plants using various co-substrates which are available in Bali. A series testing on the digestibility of substrates were set up either in the field or in the biogas laboratory.

Biogas plants in Denmark: technological and economic developments
Applied Energy, 1999Biogas plants are one of the important elements in the Danish energy-policy of having reduced CO2 emissions by 20% by 2005. Since 1984, development efforts concerning centralised biogas plants in Denmark have been carried out, and Denmark now has approximately 20 large centralised biogas plants. All Danish biogas plants have increased gas production as

System of Optimization of the Combustion Process of Biogas for the Biogas Plant Heat Supply
2019The use of methods for the biological conversion of organic waste with the production of biogas and high-quality organic fertilizers while simultaneously solving a number of environmental issues from pollution is an urgent task. Due to the fact that a significant part of the biogas produced is spent on the own needs of a biogas plant, it is necessary ...
