Biogas desulfurization under anoxic conditions using synthetic wastewater and biogas slurry

International Biodeterioration & Biodegradation, 2018
Abstract A feasibility study was conducted to determine whether aerated biogas slurry is a suitable nutrient solution for biogas desulfurization systems with a biotrickling filter. At a loading rate of 36.20 g-H2S m−3h−1, the H2S and NOx−-N removal efficiencies were 84.7% (average elimination capacity of 30.67 g-H2S m−3h−1) and 60.9%, respectively ...

Biogas Slurry Logistics Assessment: Tanker vs. Umbilical System

2011
The continuous development of new crops for anaerobic digestion has led to the need to manage in a rational and environmentalfriendly way the distribution of the digested products that comes out of the biogas plant. The EU, national, and regional regulations set the time windows when it is allowed to carry out the slurry applications and the limits on

Environmental Consequences of Future Biogas Technologies Based on Separated Slurry

Environmental Science & Technology, 2011
This consequential life cycle assessment study highlights the key environmental aspects of producing biogas from separated pig and cow slurry, a relatively new but probable scenario for future biogas production, as it avoids the reliance on constrained carbon cosubstrates.

Possible losses of plant nutrients from biogas slurry

Agricultural Wastes, 1985
Abstract One of the major problems in the efficient running of biogas plants is proper management of their slurry due to the increased volume of cattle dung from 1 to 1·6–1·7 times. Therefore, a laboratory study was undertaken to determine the contents of some plant nutrients in the liquid and semi-solid portions.

Improvement of biogas production in plug flow reactor using biogas slurry pretreated cornstalk

Bioresource Technology Reports, 2020
Abstract Biogas slurry pretreatment for enhancing the biomethanization of cornstalk was investigated. After pretreating 24 h with a volume proportion of biogas slurry and water of 4:1, the lignin reduction of cornstalk achieved 24.96%, while cellulose and hemicellulose decreased by 19.44%.

Potential of domestic biogas digester slurry in vermitechnology

Bioresource Technology, 2010
This work illustrates the potential of domestic biogas digester slurry in vermicompost production. To achieve the objectives biogas plant slurry (BGS) was mixed with crop residues (CR) in different ratios to produce seven different feed mixtures for earthworm Eisenia fetida.

Phytoplankton response to biogas slurry in carp ponds

Bioresource Technology, 1991
Abstract Biogas slurry (BGS) when applied at the rate of 52 liters ha −1 day −1 (6.4% dry matter) did not result in a significant increase in total phytoplankton (TP). Application of BGS along with supplementary feeding (SF) (3:1, rice bran: groundnut oil-cake, dry w/w basis) improved phytoplankton quality by resulting in the dominance of green ...

GOBAR-DHAN: BIO-SLURRY STRENGTHENS BIOGAS?

Bio-gas coupled with conversion of its waste bio-slurry into bio-fertilizer would benefit India in the field of both energy and agriculture. The Government seems to have made up the mind to move in this direction. The newly floated schemes are a clear indication. When1 kg of biogas is produced, nearly 100 Ltr of waste bio-slurry is also produced.

Synchronously degradation of biogas slurry and decarbonization of biogas using microbial fuel cells

Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part A
Two-chamber microbial fuel cell (MFC) with biogas slurry (BS) of corn stover as the anode substrate and Chlorella as the cathode substrate was investigated to solve the problem of the accumulation of wastewater generated from biogas plants and to achieve low-cost separation of CO2 from biogas.
