Simultaneous biogas upgrading, CO2 sequestration, and biogas slurry decrement using biomass ash

Waste Management, 2021
A novel system for simultaneous biogas upgrading, CO2 sequestration, and biogas slurry decrement was established by adding biomass ash into biogas slurry to form a renewable CO2 mixture absorbent. After CO2 saturation, the CO2-rich mixture absorbent could be applied for plant growth.

Microalgal cultivation with biogas slurry for biofuel production

Bioresource Technology, 2016
Microalgal growth requires a substantial amount of chemical fertilizers. An alternative to the utilization of fertilizer is to apply biogas slurry produced through anaerobic digestion to cultivate microalgae for the production of biofuels. Plenty of studies have suggested that anaerobic digestate containing high nutrient contents is a potentially ...

Component analysis and risk assessment of biogas slurry from biogas plants

Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2022
Abstract Massive amounts of biogas slurry are produced due to the development of biogas plants. The pollution features and the risk of biogas slurry were fully evaluated in this work. Thirty-one biogas slurry samples were collected from sixteen different cities and five different raw materials biogas plants (e.g.

MgFe-LDH@biochars for removing ammonia nitrogen and phosphorus from biogas slurry: Synthesis routes, composite performance, and adsorption mechanisms.

Chemosphere, 2023
Layered double hydroxide-biochar composites (LDH@BCs) have been developed for ammonia nitrogen (AN) and phosphorus (P) removal from wastewater. Improvement of LDH@BCs was limited due to the lack of comparative evaluation based on LDH@BCs characteristics ...

Enhancement effect of biochar addition on anaerobic co-digestion of pig manure and corn straw under biogas slurry circulation.

Bioresource Technology, 2023
Based on the semi-continuous anaerobic co-digestion (AcoD) reactor, the effects of biochar addition on the internal environmental changes and gas production characteristics were studied under the condition of biogas slurry recirculation.

Bioaugmentation on humification during co-composting of corn straw and biogas slurry.

Bioresource Technology, 2023
In order to increase the nutrients and humic acid (HA) contents of corn straw (CS) derived organic fertilizer and recover resources from biogas slurry (BS) simultaneously, the co-composting of CS and BS was carried out with the addition of biochar and ...

Biogas slurry topdressing as replacement of chemical fertilizers reduces leaf senescence of maize by up-regulating tolerance mechanisms.

Journal of Environmental Management, 2023
Worldwide physiological research has aimed to decelerate the aging of crop leaves by optimizing fertilization measures to improve crop or biomass yield. Solid organic fertilizers can be combined with chemical fertilizers to delay the aging of crop leaves.
