Microwave‐assisted catalytic pyrolysis of textile wastes: Synergistic effects and product characteristics

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract This study examines the microwave‐assisted catalytic pyrolysis (MACP) of individual and blended textiles (cotton, polyester, nylon 6) using ZnO and a ZnO/natural zeolite catalyst. In a custom‐built microwave reactor operated at 500°C, 1 kW power, and a 15‐min residence time, textile wastes were pyrolyzed.

Reliability Analysis of a Biogas Plant having two Dissimilar Units

open access: yes, 2023
Abstract: A biogas system with two dissimilar production units is considered. mathematical modelling is carried out for the system to calculate the reliability and mean time to system failure of the system. Two models (parallel redundant and standby redundant) are given.

Waste activated sludge high‐rate treatment of septage: Stabilization phase trials and comparison with winery wastewater treatment

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Performance evaluation of the waste activated sludge high‐rate (WASHR) process for septic wastewater treatment. Abstract The waste‐activated sludge high‐rate (WASHR) process is evaluated as a batch‐mode pre‐treatment for actual septage using a high‐rate contact stabilization (HRCS) approach.

Phenolic Resin‐Functionalized NH2‐UiO‐66‐Containing Mixed Matrix Membranes for CO2/CH4 Separation

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
Phenolic resin‐functionalized small‐size RFin@NH2‐UiO‐66 nanofillers were prepared and combined with polyetherimide (PEI) matrix to construct mixed matrix membranes for effective CO2/CH4 separation. ABSTRACT For mixed matrix membranes (MMMs), the inherent structural features and composition of the embedded nanofillers play a pivotal role in governing ...

Electrochemical Unit Integration with Biogas Production Processes

open access: yes, 2020
Power to Gas (PtG) is being viewed as systemic innovation in terms of integrating renewable electricity systems and wastewater treatment systems to provide renewable transport fuel. The highly varied nature of the sun and wind does usually produce either less or more electricity than the required amount during certain period of the day or a year.
