Abstract Zygaenula Doleschall, 1858 and Mesoctenia Enderlein, 1924 syn. nov. are small genera restricted to the Australasia region. Here, both genera are considered synonymous, supported by the synapomorphy width of frons, in relation to height, more than two times. A new species, Zygaenula mcalpinei sp. nov.

Seasonal Forest Resources Support Fish Biomass in Floodplain Lakes of an Amazonian Tributary
ABSTRACT The Flood Pulse Concept is a foundational ecological theory that emphasizes the critical role of lateral connectivity between a river channel and its floodplain. Many tropical rivers inundate the surrounding floodplain in the flood stage, thereby receiving large amounts of terrestrial organic matter that can be decomposed by microbes and ...

Genomic Data Are Not Commodities: Advocating for Collective Responsibility in Open Science
ABSTRACT The availability of genomic and genetic data is fundamental to advancing biogeographical research, particularly in biodiversity‐rich but data‐poor regions such as the South Atlantic. Yet, despite increasing mandates for open science, researchers face significant barriers to accessing datasets from published studies.

The Role of Fish in Nutrient Recycling Across a Conservation Gradient in Neotropical Streams
ABSTRACT Fish play a crucial role in nutrient recycling within various aquatic ecosystems, but how their contribution varies across streams with different levels of disturbance remains poorly understood. In our study, we investigated the role of fish assemblage in nutrient cycling within eight Neotropical streams characterised by varying degrees of ...
