The heterobimetallic amino‐acid dithiocarbamates [M(H2O)n]2[Pt(L)2] (M = Ca, Sr, Ba, Zn, Cd; L = N‐dithioato‐iminodiacetate) are thermally dehydrated to their respective anhydrates M2[Pt(L)2], which further yield metal sulfate or oxide particles decorated with finely distributed metallic platinum upon combustion in air. The thermal decomposition of the

Crystal Structure and Eu2+ Luminescence of the Lithium Alkaline‐Earth Silicate Fluoride LiBa2SiO4F
With Li2BaSiO4F, a new lithium alkaline‐earth silicate fluoride could be synthesized via high‐temperature solid‐state reaction. Crystal structure and luminescence properties upon Eu2+ activation were investigated. A high‐temperature solid‐state synthesis in weld‐shut tantalum ampoules yielded a new alkaline‐earth silicate fluoride, LiBa2SiO4F.

In Situ X‐Ray Diffraction Study of a Microwave‐Based Hydrothermal Synthesis of Mayenite Ca12Al14O33
Microwave‐assisted hydrothermal synthesis enables rapid transformation of aluminium‐ and calcium‐hydroxide into mayenite with high surface area. Optimised synthesis conditions comprise a microwave step at 80°C for 5 min followed by calcination at 800°C. The reactions during calcination were studied via in situ XRD measurements.

Sb2O2[CO3] was synthesized at 20 GPa in a laser‐heated diamond cell and is an antimony oxocarbonate with stereochemically active lone electron pairs on the antimony atoms. Its crystal structure is characterized by the presence of [CO3]2–‐groups and by interconnected “Sb2O5‐units” which form a Sb–O‐network within the b,c lattice plane.

The reaction of the tetrahedral [Pb4]4− with Mo(CO)4(tmeda) yields two different Mo(CO)3‐functionalized clusters which can both be related to known clusters by the same substitution pattern following the isolobal principle. The crystal structures of [Na([2.2.2]crypt)]2Na2[(η4‐Pb4)Mo(CO)3] · 8.7NH3 and Na6[Pb4{Mo(CO)3}3] · 22NH3 are reported.

Only light lanthanides facilitate lanthanide‐dependent methylotrophy. In Beijerinckiaceae bacterium RH AL1, light lanthanides are enriched from diverse sources, including poorly soluble minerals, through a multilayered process involving mobilisation, selective uptake, and intracellular periplasmic storage.
