Abstract Sulfoevernan, a novel heparinoid with molecular weight of 2 × 104 and 12% of sulfo group, was prepared by sulfonation of evernan, an α−(1→3, 1→4) polyglucan isolated from oak moss ( Evernia prunastry L. Ach. ) Sulfoevernan and β-lipoproteins of human serum form a complex with the participation of calcium.
