Abstract Composed of various minerals, the eggshell provides ideal conditions for embryonic development, and understanding its composition and structure is essential for clarifying its relationship with bone formation. This study characterized the structure and mineral profile of the Rhinoclemmys punctularia punctularia eggshell in relation to ...

EVALUATION OF MODIFIED GELATIN AND AMNIOTIC MEMBRANE AS BIOLOGICAL DRESSINGS FOR WOUND HEALING IN BUFFALO CALVES* [PDF]
The efficacy of the modified gelatin and amniotic membrane as biological dressings in open wounds was evaluated on twenty experimental buffalo calves. Modified gelatin showed quicker adherence to the wounds than amniotic membrane.

What Makes an “Ideal” Cell Line for Recombinant Adeno‐Associated Virus Production?
Several host cell types have been used to produce rAAVs to date. Cell line‐specific traits that are beneficial in the context of rAAV manufacturing are reviewed here, with the goal of developing a consensus on the ‘ideal’ characteristics that an rAAV production host should possess (created with Biorender.com).

Bimanual instrument suturing technique for periodontal and implant microsurgery: A technical note
Abstract Background In the traditional suturing technique, the dominant hand (DH) holds a needle holder, and the non‐dominant hand (NH) performs manual ties without the aid of an instrument. In periodontal and implant microsurgery, finer sutures and needles, e.g., 7‐0 in International Organization for Standardization units, are used, which could be ...

A comprehensive review of the amniotic membrane and amniotic fluid [PDF]
The amniotic membrane and the amniotic fluid are one of life's most complex and delicate tissues and fluids, respectively. What was known about this tissue and fluid prior to the 20th century was extremely limited scientifically, but was significantly ...

Amniotic membranes as a biological dressing.
Amniotic membrane dressings were tested in the treatment of 30 patients. Fifteen of them had burns, 5 had chronic varicose ulcers, and 10 had decubitus ulcers or other open infected wounds. No effort was made to separate the chorion from the amnion. Dressings were changed every 48 hours, and treatment was, in some cases, partially ambulatory.

Stem properties of amniotic membrane-derived cells [PDF]
New avenues in the general area of research into stem cells have been opened in recent years through the discovery that cells with stem properties can be isolated from the human placenta, which represents an ethically sound, easily pro-cured and ...
