Biological availability of isoleucine

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1957
Abstract Biological availability of isoleucine in eight different proteins was determined using a blood meal diet low in isoleucine. Isoleucine in zein was available to the extent of 30%; in casein and gelatin, around 60–70%; and in fibrin, beef, egg albumin, and Drackett, over 90% of the isoleucine was available to the rat.

Biological availability of selenosugars in rats

Chemico-Biological Interactions, 2007
The biological availability and metabolism of two selenosugars orally administered to rats were investigated. Two other selenium species, selenite and trimethylselenonium ion (TMSe) were included in the study as positive and negative controls, respectively.

Food availability and daily biological rhythms

Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews, 1980
Restricted daily feeding schedules result in the partial or complete synchronization of a wide range of rhythmic biological functions in rodents. In some cases, exemplified by drinking behavior and liver tyrosine transaminase activity, this represents primarily a direct, exogenous influence of food intake.

Assessment of the biologic availability of digoxin in man

Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 1974
Low serum digoxin levels were found in 8 institutionalized patients with congestive heart failure despite daily administration, in standard dosage, of a digoxin preparation for 4 weeks. All 8 patients developed serum levels within the accepted therapeutic range after receiving another digoxin preparation for 1 week.

[Biological availability].

Arzneimittel-Forschung, 1975
The term "bioavailability" is used to describe the actual percentage of a drug released from the dosage form, which reaches the receptor site in sufficient quantity to induce a biological effect. In this connection there are many problems arising in conjunction with the formulation of the preparation, as well as through the interaction of physiological

Biologic availability of digoxin tablets.

JAMA, 1973
One year ago, Lindenbaum and his colleagues 1 published the results of an investigation of the bioavailability of three different brands of digoxin tablets, including two different lots of one brand. While his data indicated that the blood levels varied widely, a follow-up investigation by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) revealed that the brand ...

Pharmacokinetics and biological availability of erythromycin

Infection, 1977
A pharmacokinetic model has been developed for erythromycin involving seven transfer or interaction steps. The major steps describing the role of erythromycin derivatives and dosage form design in the absorptive process, impact of protein binding on drug distribution, specificity of erythromycin for bacterial ribosomes, and the determination of serum ...

Commercial availability of biological control agents.

2003
The commercial use of biological control has seen a very fast development during the past 30 years. Currently, about 85 companies worldwide produce more than 125 species of natural enemies. The largest variety of commercially produced species of natural enemies is available in Europe, mainly as a result of a much larger greenhouse industry in Europe ...

[The biological availability of digitoxin].

Fortschritte der Medizin, 1977
The bioavailability of digitoxin after a single dose of 0.5 mg was studied in 6 healthy volunteers by estimation of tmax, cmax, AUC und urinary excretion rate. After tablets, absorption was rapid, after dragées delayed. The mean t1/2 of digitoxin for i.v.
